Sheffield v Ipswich 15th June (A fixture)

Recommended Posts

The races between Musielak, Holder, Sayfutdinov and Doyle should be belters, starting from Ht1 with Musielak and Doyle.

Sheffield need to win by more than 4 to get the bonus point, Doyle usually flys around Owlerton and don’t think it’ll take Sayfutdinov long to work out how close he can ride to the air fence  so expect big points from those two, Ipswich also have King and Barker who have shown they can get around Owlerton, plus Hulme notched up plenty of points when he wore a Tigers race jacket.  Rew should do OK with it being a big track.  Think Thompson will be just happy to be back on the bike after the concussion.

The home boys all need to fire, don’t think Musielak and Holder will need much geeing up to get big points against there opposite big hitters, Ellis trapped OK last week and also Monday just looks to lock speed especially when he waved through Doyle and Sayfutdinov in races at Foxhall, Kerr will want to improve on his 4 paid 7 from last week, Howarth has hopefully overcome his latest knock so will be needing big points at reserve if the bonus point is to come to Sheffield.  Gilkes has improved week on week but does need more laps around Sheffield to work out the lines etc, he’ll be wanting 4 rides and points.  Then there’s Bellego, brought in to power score at home which really he’s not done to date to compensate for his absolutely abysmal away scoring, he’ll get a new average after Thursdays meeting, but could it be his last as moves to reserve after this one also which seriously weakens Sheffield away from home.

Score?  Think Sheffield will get the win and bonus point but it won’t be by much, 49-41 home win

;)I think the Witches have a chance of keeping this close… if the 3 heat leaders are dialled in then you’ve got to think they’ll get around 32 or 33 points… If Rew gets to grips with the track quickly then he could get 6 or 7 from reserve, so looking for a handful of points from Barker and Hume… it’s doable for sure, but a couple of big ‘ifs’

And this is meant to be a good race track? What a load of boring schitt so far

I mean I’d normally be at Leicester but for being ill but it sounds like more passing there than here, and BP gets slated.

Never seen much passing there for a long while..

Fast close racing in the main, but not much overtaking..

A bit too narrow on the bends for todays riding style and fast machinery..
