Do you have the gist, please, for non-Facebook users? Thanks in advance.

He basically confirmed what Leicester said on their website. His Dad was taken ill and they had to return home. He was meant to be riding at Iwade today but pulled out from that too. He apologised to Leicester as a whole and everyone at Iwade today.

to be fair to harry his first 2 rides looked like he wasnt interested but his last 2 he looked a different rider

Harry did improve in terms of body language and riding style but still only managed 2 from 5. In his first ride he resembled a novice which suggested he his not getting enough time on the bike. If lack of bike time is one of the contributing factors then that is something Harry can put right and needs to. Worky are sticking by him so that is the least he can do.

Never thought to get checked out by the doctors on site? Lets drive 7 hours home instead! Surely a 28 day ban is coming

It does sound rather implausible. Think a bit of retrospective covering up may be going on to try and mitigate against the likelyhood of disciplinary action.

If his Dad was really ill, why not go to see track Dr then surely a facility would be available to Leicester due to mitigating circumstances. Also, if Dad was that ill, was it wise to drive straight back home. There's more to this than meets the eye.

Until we know (if we ever do) the actual circumstances, we can't really make assumptions.  For a start, did his dad do the driving home. or was there someone else to drive?

As far as "mitigating circumstances,"  I'm not so sure about that.  Seek medical advice (plenty of that around) and seek another mechanic.  If medical advice is "go home" then maybe, but the rider should still be disciplined for not riding in the meeting (I would expect a 28 day ban).

But, as I say, let's hear the truth of what actually happened.

That's an end to all that then and we can all move on :D

I don't think Nathan Ablitt got a 28 day ban when he didn't turn up at Armadale last year? Pretty sure he rode for Poole soon afterwards!

That's because it's Poole they get away with anything :D

Technically though, Boughen "refused to ride". I can't remember the circumstances behind Ablitt's "no show", but did he not "break down en-route"?  Which is totally different to the Ashton Boughen situation.

Must've known what to expect, he was only there a couple of weeks ago

From this week riders not allowed to park vans inside the big pits area at Northside areana, in previous week's some vans were turning up with several passengers and not paying to get in !!! Think only 1 rider 1 mechanic allowed free

Yeah that is more than strange, i'm with you hope he is indeed okay. I haven't seen him at Worky meetings either.

Here was looking at the Forum yesterday morning, so he's still coming on, just not posting, it seems.

Neila, that has been my biggest gripe about speedway when I was an active Supporter and the

people who got in for nothing were not happy when I dared to say anything bad about many things.

Do these Free-bees not realise not realise that not paying for admission is one of reasons why

so many clubs are not around now, yes an attractive strong side helps is the main one but what will

these people do when there is no speedway to watch.

Without many of the "Free-bees" a speedway meeting wouldn't even get started - I could list them but won't, as it is fairly obvious who they are.

I can only talk about Newcastle, but when Rob Grant took over, many of the "Free-bees" were stopped (e.g track staff guests).

I could name names regarding people getting out of vans (and I'm talking six or seven, rather than one or two), but won't.  All I will say is he was a junior/second-halfer and didn't last long as a "rider" as he now no longer rides!

What was the point of getting the back of your hand stamped as you paid your £13 last week.?  Perhaps some form of stopping the 'freebies'?

At least Northside doesn't seem to have the 'ladders and planks' brigade who peered over the Derwent Park fence.
