The first time Poole haven't hit 100 points in a two-legged knockout tie since the 2021 playoff final... let's call that a win!

Haha, if you had second strings that could ride Poole, agg win probably go down to last heat! ;) Poor Scotty nasty crash, but both his wheels on inside of the kerb. Not seen that at Poole for a while. Hope he hasn't picked up an injury.

Good meeting tonight played out in front of a large crowd in balmy summer sunshine, unlike last night when most were freezing their bits off.

Pirates under par but way too strong for a top heavy Oxford tea . Masters was excellent but lucky to get the full Monty in heat 15 after being beaten to the first bend by Ben Cook, only for the ref to call it back as Masters had rolled. Special mention for Scott Nicholls who had a titanic race with the Cooks in heat 9. And in heat 15 when he took a purler after crossing the curb which caused him to flip. Bruised ribs the result.

Pirates into the final where it will be Scunthorpe, Birmingham or Redcar. Don’t mind or care who we meet. Bring it on!

Lawson is certainly carrying an injury and it shows, but a great team effort again and the Cooks and reserves come to our rescue. Steve’s home form is a massive concern, can’t beat any away teams heat leaders consistently all season. Hope he can get it sorted otherwise our luck will run out when riders making up for him have an off night.

Lawson straight to physio after the meeting.

But still hit 52 pts with our 2 heat leaders not winning a race all night

Track was soooo bad that Nicholls tried to get off it with both wheels over the white line - and we know how that ended up!!

I don't think a rider taking a heavy fall and possible injury is anything to be poking fun at,only Skidder1 :nono:

Wow. You're gracious when you win aren't you?

It's called team building. When your second string are strong, your heat leaders won't be as strong (especially when facing Oxford, who have exactly the opposite). That's why there's a points limit. Poole have gone down this route, and it's working.

Well he is accurate!!

And so was I with my initial post. What's your point? Being accurate doesn't mean you should be a d**k about it. I thought I was being quite gracious in defeat, there was no need for a response like that other than to gloat.

The cooks were terrific especially Zach and Kyle is not surprisingly getting plenty of rides, another top performance ,glad Scotty is ok after his crash and Lawson will come good when we need him I am sure, not so sure about Worrall but he came good last night when needed in heat 13 so promising signs.

Nicholls throttle jammed open and he couldn't get off the bike, in his own words.

You are right it is all about team building to a points limit. Last season Poole built with 3 strong heat leaders and a 2 point reserve and won the League and Cup (again). So sorry if that sounds ungracious. Its great to see Oxford back and some good 'local' derby clashes.

Oh Lewy you are trying!! Not poking fun at all merely pointing out Scotty's crash was not due to track conditions but ( as it turned out) a jammed throttle! No serious injuries thankfully.
