SteveLyric2
A lot could depend on how different the track prep might be. Another hot sunny breezy day today doesn't make it any easier for the track staff.
Steve Shovlar
Not sure I would have chosen Sedgmen as a guest and perhaps would have preferred rr but an incident could stuff us so see the reasoning. Get well soon Lawson, you are needed! A glorious day in Poole. Patio doors open at 8.30. Hopefully the track won’t be too wet at the start of the meeting and will be regularly watered throughout the meeting!
LisaColette
https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/21178/birmingham-cjl-29-07-2022 Think you are underestimating him a bit Steve. Started off well enough last time on his way to 10 points. Anything 8+ will be good

IronScorpion
Probably wise going with a guest as Stevie still not found the true potential of his bikes with a different tuner. If they had gone r/r, they could have named Sam Hagon as their AR(no 8) but they need to be on top of their game in their battle with Glasgow to be the no1 in the league, choosing their opponents in the play offs. Good luck to the Scorpions & get well soon Lawson.
LisaColette
Watched the Edinburgh pre show on YT last night. Mainly cos they had Josh Pickering on and always interesting to see what he has to say. They did a little clip with Simon Lambert, and he said they were looking to win at Edinburgh and to just to keep it close as poss at Poole for BP. He also seemed to take a swipe at Kemp? As he said he found it baffling people are leaving out the UK and just concentrating on Poland.

I fail to see what’s baffling about Kemps decision,he is doing what he thinks best for his career,All the young Aussies are giving GB miss these days and heading straight to Poland.

Diamonds85
Is Simon Lambert just jealous because he'll never be good enough to ride in Poland? What Drew is doing isn't baffling at all. There's more support, more opportunities to ride, more money, more training, more professional set ups... Riding in Poland is a no brainer if you're good enough. Rather than being sh!t on by the way the sport is run in this country, getting dropped from teams for being too good (too high average) for next to no money etc etc... I'm not a fan of Drew, but I know and respect what his decisions are, I think they're pretty sensible tbh...

The cost have have bikes, equipment, tools, kevlars, vans and workshops in both countries? The cost of travel between both countries on a weekly basis? The fact that in Poland he's probably getting more opportunities to practice (on better tracks) between race meetings, probably has a closer relationship with people over there who are willing to help and put more effort into his development? I'm sure there's a multitude of reasons, only Drew himself will know for sure. The main question is why SHOULD he do both, if he doesn't want to and is set up financially? Just because he's British doesn't mean he's tied down to riding in this country... Example, Tai Woffinden and Robert Lambert... Sings4Speedway
As covered above big differences are the bike costs (as in purchase and maintenance) if you have that sponsored in the UK, Poland or both then happy days and its just travelling time but extra bike time and pay. If you don't then its double outlay and any extra monies earned are being spent out at a much higher rate. The fact is that sponsorships are landed by likeable, hard working and appreciative people.
