Sheffield v Ipswich May 18th - Reinstated?

Another Hillsborough horror show for the officials......

A pen for a foul made outside the box

An equaliser in the 8th minute of 6 added on

An stone wall red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity not even given as a foul

*minimum of 6 minutes.

Anybody would think you didn't want Wednesday to win :D

I think we all accept that refereeing is inconsistent, especially at lower levels, but that shouldn't take away from a fabulous tie. Proper footballing theatre.

Absolutely

If someone before a ball had been kicked had said this is what will happen then they would've been rounded up and put in a padded cell

To be fair a full Hillsborough with the crowd behind them is an intimidating place, once the 2nd goal went it it was always a possibility - in the good old days when they were in  the Prem in late 90's I saw a fair few top teams turned over there including a proper 3-1 beating of Man U featuring Scholes, Keane, Beckam, Schmeichal the lot!

Rather ironic that Wednesday scored in the infamous Fergie time !!!

Only place in East Anglian Speedway terms especially were you sometimes at least get to hear "We Are The Champions" on the PA system though ;)

Anyone watching the match could see that Peterborough were time wasting quite a lot. No more than other teams do but obviously 2 - 3 minutes extra was right for the time wasting.

2 mins extra on 6

That's the equivalent proportionally of FIFTEEN for a standard half

There was nothing in the added time any more significant than during 'normal' play so the extra additional time should've been no more than say an extra 45 seconds

Also looked like the ref was ready to blow if Boro cleared the ball but just carried on until the attack finished - which is wrong. When times up then times up....

Did you not see the time wasting?

it started about 2 mins into the match

and there was definitely more than two minutes of it in the last six minutes as well as injuries

just think about how you played for the whole match

and the fact you are now record holders, by being the first team to throw away a 4-0 lead

No 'you' btw - i dont like Boro very much!

You comment proves my point. You say it started after 2 minutes. In which case standard added time should've been 15 minutes and not 6......

Boro were atrocious and in many ways got what they deserved. Timid and negative when a bold attacking approach may well have seen them triumph

Bet the fan who racially abused Darren Moore after the 1st leg result is feeling even more of a pratt now.

Whatever the result he couldn't be a bigger pratt

Don't know why they don't adopt the Rugby Union system of time keeping. When there is a stoppage in play for an injury or substitution, just stop the clock (fourth official could do it and it could be on show to everyone in the stadium), that's if the fourth official isn't being abused by one of the managers or his staff! Everyone could then see when 45 and 90 minutes are up and the ref blows the whistle, unless a penalty is being taken! That's  it. It would stop all the bo11ocks of players going down feigning injuries, cramp etc., and if a team are well infront and are obviously time wasting, like goal keepers catching the ball and diving to floor where they then lay for anything up to 30 seconds at a time, they get a card - they'd only do it once or they're off! The timing of football games at present is a joke, what with substitutions, goal celebrations and supposed injuries it's anyones guess as to how they calculate added time!

When I played Saturday football it was 30 seconds added in per goal - that’s 3 minutes for staters for the 6 goals. I think it was also the same for subs being introduced.

most, as usual.  are forgetting the board indicated a MINIMUM amount of time to added on - for those slow at the back that’s a a MINIMUM amount of time! If it says 6 minutes that’s the very minimum the ref needs to add on the rest is entirely at his discretion as he and he alone controls that game.

for the record footballing wise I couldn’t give a monkies about either side - but at least understand the rules properly and all footballers know this stuff as it’s drummed into them - fans is another matter of course
