The promotion have decided to make call-offs very early for a few years now. It's not a new thing. Home fans have on the whole been very supportive of this, and that's their main source of income. It might be different to how others do it, but it does seem to work well up here.

Fair enough. If that’s what works for them. A lot of other clubs don’t take that route though, so it should come as no surprise that opposing fans find that strange - and, as I said, I think that’s why some people (including myself, rightly or probably more likely wrongly) wondered if there was an ulterior motive. Let’s draw a line under it there.

Who's being provocative? I'm only making a polite request.

It’s provocative because a lot of money was spent and lost as a result of the cancellation, and you think it’s acceptable to make a joke about it. Congratulations, give yourself a pat on the back.

Works well, I don't think so!

Crowds are down because of the lack of regular fixtures.

If meets are going to be cancelled in May when 3mm of rain are forecasts we'll be racing in poor weather in October again.

The Glasgow promotion have made a rod for their own back. Right now there's a similar forecast for Sunday afternoon when the Brit Junior event is scheduled and possibly they need to be careful for the youngsters.

Are crowds down because of the lack of fixtures or because of the aftermath of the heat six abandonment ?

The fixture list at most tracks are a shambles no doubt it will have an effect on crowd levels.IMO. don’t think the heat six abandonment is a reason ?IMO.Poor weather forecasts put a lot of fans off these days.IMO.Riders attitudes have a bigger knock on effect,it does takes much to make them want to go home.Fans are wary these days.

Bit off topic but i hope you all turn out for Sundays' British Youth Championship fixture. Last year's event was poorly attended despite it being a very entertaining 25 heat meeting. I think last years price was £10 so it was well worth the entrance fee. And supporting the next generation of riders is no bad thing.

Weather forecast for Sunday is horrendous, hope it changes before then

That depends on which forecast you look at. If it's the BBC then it's terrible but others only have a couple of millimetres rain for the whole day.

It was absolutely fantastic, despite the dust. I think I barely counted 30 punters all afternoon though, which was a shame.

This crazy fixture list will kill off the Sport.Whoever voted to change to 1 Home 1 Away has lot to answer for .IMO

Most teams with NDL teams that can't fit fixtures in even though Berwick tried to full fill a double header last Saturday when the Bandits do not have a home meeting until mid June.

I dumped the BBC weather app months ago on account of it always being wrong and i use the Met Office's one now and the forecast is changing slightly for the better with each passing hour so hopefully the weather tomorrow will be fine.

Before this meeting came to Glasgow, I'm sure it was usually a £5 fixtures or freebie, possibly added after another meeting (my memory may be playing tricks on me) so I'm not at all surprised at a low turn out with a £10 entrance fee.

The meeting lasts 2.5/3 hours. £10 is good value.

Not sure that the duration is a selling point, though 30 heats certainly is. Did you think the crowd was far better today. I guestimated between 200 and 300 but might be wrong. We need to consider whether we have classes where there are four or fewer entrants. Only two showed up in the 500cc class today.

Well of you want to be picky, it was 34 heats. I think it was more like 150 people, but definitely well up on last year. The 500cc was a bit of a joke, although Ashton was fast!

Incidentally, what is the technical difference between the two 125cc classes? The heat times were about 6 seconds apart.

Wasn't able to attend but the laddie from Leicester in 500s times aren't far off what you'll see in a champ match. Impressive
