Ipswich V Kings Lynn May 1st

Recommended Posts

King got 10 plus 1 from 6…. 8 from his first 3 when the Lynn riders were struggling with the track …. He had no speed and was passed with ease in 2 heats ….. so yes it was an off day for whatever reason maybe wrong set up

And if he has words with Emil that’s pretty poor… King was to slow to wait for as proved by the Lynn boys both going past him

Lynn got better as the meeting wore on and Klindt Jakobsen and at times Toft did ok and so did Howarth and Edwards

Lynn made the wrong move with KK he is just awful clearly shutting off every corner and when Rew got alongside he did the same wasn’t the bike

And yes heat one Hume could have been excluded and in heat two Howarth exclusion was harsh I felt should have been all 4

The only correct exclusion was Jakobsen but how long did the ref wait before putting the lights on!!

I'd prefer to congratulate a British rider doing well than call it criminal?

Absolutely, well done to him but from a Lynn fan's perspective (ie me) he shouldn't be beating any of our top five.

Don’t want to be too hard on the lad but Thompson just isn’t ready for this level yet, can’t keep carrying him surely we need to build a bridge and get rowe or kemp in who will be able to compete with the other rising stars, keep Thompson on as a designated No.8 or something.

If our reserves can get 9 or 10 between them that’s job done but that increases pressure on Hume to get 8 at least which he isn’t always going to do so I agree we have to look at a rising star who might get 3 or 4 from 3 rides rather than young Joe only getting 1 or 2 though it does seem harsh on the lad

Rew is looking good to me just can’t gate and Foxhall isn’t the best home track to try and pass on for him

Rumours we have a replacement lined up for Riss for 28 days….. Batch? Cook?

Homer ref, just what we need!

Two shockers

Danyon should've gone in heat one and heat 2 was all 4 all day long

Going by the majority of comments I've read on here & updates, seems Lynn were unlucky in the first 2 heats. Without those refereeing decisions you're looking at a 49-41 scoreline - that's nothing to be ashamed of!

Taking into account Doyle sitting out heat 15 yes that was a better performance and score but one rider is letting us down big time away from home despite scoring well at Lynn and in the Extraliga, I think we are owed an explanation as to why he is shutting off into corners and not beating anybody it's not good enough. Don't see the sense in getting rid of Klindt personally, he hasn't beaten an opponent in a heat one yet  and needs to be better at home but has scored 8 today and at Sheffield and at least gets stuck in.

While I understand using a TS against King, Howarth really should have had at least 6 rides today.

Klindt and Kasprzak need to go... Palm Toft is walking a fine line aswell

Klindt had a shocker in heat but bearing in mind what his bike sounded like on parade he was lucky to make it out for that one at all

After that he was very good and pretty quick picking up all the points you would expect

KK mind you was a dreadful disgrace and deserves his P45

He’s capable of that at Foxhall though so it’s not uncommon. Beat two of Sheffield’ top 5 last week and beat Bewely the week before.

Interesting meeting today. For us Rew looks to be getting better & it was good to see him trying different lines.

it was great to see Hume getting stuck in a gritty display.

Emil & Doyle just superb

king was King looked outstanding early on & then got passed far to easily later on not sure what his beef is & missing from the victory parade is poor.

Thompson while not knocking the lad I’m not sure he is ready for this level yet but he is a tryer.

As for Lynn clearly then has issues but KK is a disgrace. I’ve never see so much throttling off unbelievable…..that kind of behaviour must effect his team mates

Totally agree re Howarth, should definitely have 6 rides. No disrespect to Edwards because he done what was asked of him and more today, but when the team is struggling you have to use your senior reserve more. You know Howarth has points in him and is scoring well from the main body of Sheffields team this season.4 rides for Howarth was criminal today.

KK shut off into a few corners last week at the NA.Brady and Allitt need to come forward and admit the risk on KK hasn't worked. But i'm sure we will hear the same old thing in the next press release.

What a mistake it has been to get my first season ticket in over thirty years. If i didn't have one i may had stayed at home Thursday and watch the football on the tv.

Not a terrible meeting. A couple of shocking calls by the ref.

Doyle and Emil in different postcodes. Rew was quick, just gating was letting him down. Danny is thankful for his gating as was slow as anything. Dan certainly not ready for the top league.

For Lynn, all had moments (other than Special K). Wondered down the pits half way through as little ones first meeting, Lynn riders sat there on their phones whilst heats running, not great team spirit.

Got away with the weather, that's for sure.

I thought Klindt was pretty good and actually got stuck in thought he has always done well at Foxhall so could be a flash in the pan…. Trouble with Lynn is that they have all similar 6-7 point riders and none of them will improve … Klindt TJ Toft maybe even Jacobsen will only ever be that kind of rider … you only need 2 or 3 of them to have a 4/5 point return and it’s trouble

If as quoted King wasn’t on the victory lap that’s poor from the captain

Surely not to much trouble to leave their phones alone for 90 mins or so

Lynn need to get rid of Brady if they are on about shuffling the pack,  he wants to be ‘pals’ with the riders and not upset the apple cart it’s like he’s a bit in awe of like a of Klindt and Jakobsen especially that’s shown today when the guest was hooked and then not given more than 4 rides after being their top scorer!

'Hooking the guest' made sense at the time as it was a race without Doyle or Emil and to be fair Howarth only had a point at that stage, however it was poor planning for he and Edwards to have four rides each.
