Birmingham v Redcar bsn Wednesday

Recommended Posts

12 races won from gate 2/4 last week .... that's quite a high percentage!

Irony is...we won the toss, chose gates 2-4, but the opposition get to use those gates 8 times, as they get choice in Heat 15!

No benefit from winning the toss!

Didn't Riss ride for Germany on Saturday in the European team nonsense?

Yes he did had 4 rides and didn’t score, what exactly is wrong is it an injury or illness.?

He did indeed ride but regretted it. He’s suffering from some sort of brain fog and dizziness that they can’t get to the bottom of. He thought he was improving slightly so gave it a go for Germany, but the same issues reared up again and he struggled to hang on to the bike. He could be missing for a while.

Hindsight!!!

Depends what the stats are like previously & how the gates are prepared. Should all be equal but the tendency is for 1 & 4 being the best depending how the track evolves & where the racers race line is over the start line.

Will the Brummies beat the weather yet again and get a meeting on when all others don't seem bothered?

I don't think it's a case of other clubs not being bothered, just not willing to risk a rain-off or suffer a poor crowd! Look what happened at Stuart Robson's farewell - they were certainly "bothered" & made every attempt to get the meeting on - end result, hundreds of fans travelling for it to be called off!

Comment from Laurence Rogers on the SpeedwayGB site:

“Using the BSN Series to regain match fitness is important as the main aim is progress in the league, which gets underway in a few weeks’ time, to get into those play-offs.”

How is this supposed to get fans in the stadium? Admitting the match that is the same price as a league match, isn't as important as a league match? Birmingham can still qualify!

My concern from LR's statement is that he claims that 3 current riders missed a chunk of last season and need time to get dialled in etc...

Why sign half a side that are not going to produce in the first place?
