21.04.23 - Scun v Brum BSN Series

Recommended Posts

Still overcast but dry.

Possible rain pockets about later but nothing to worry about.

On rain radar(Met Office), there is a band of rain from York across north of Hull & in to the North sea which may drop in southwards with the wind about 9.15 but we do get meetings through & have no interval with minimal track grades unless lots of dust which should not apply like other tracks. At 9.15, I am normally home!

Talking about this meeting?

I think what Tosh is eluding to is there is more to learn than gating.

When are Poole up?

End of the season so he might have forgot it all or different conditions. ;) Here's hoping.

Exactly. So if in their words Poole is just gating. Then he needs practice at Scunny (more racing lines?) then to have a good meeting when we are up there - which was my original point!!

I know what both of you were eluding to but, as a lot of posters have said, on Wednesday Poole's track was gate & go. Then after mid meeting, when Plymouth got sorted, Poole riders started going out wide but the dirt wasn't there so made no impression.  The last 6 heats were 17-19.

If the score was closer at the beginning though, I don't think the last 6 heats would have been like that. Different when pressure is on imo.

Another good win for the scorpions however some interesting referring. Looking at the picture on British speedways social media (which I believe is just prior to lamberts collision with Sedgmen) looks as though lamberts exclusion In heat 6 looks just as harsh at looked in person. Along that there was Nick Morris’ most peculiar exclusion for delaying the start yet nobody in stands saw it ! Nether the less the scorpions winning streak goes on!

His bike packed up, then he failed to push it off twice . The starters assistant then pushed him off and bike restarted, took an age digging at the tapes ignoring the starter. At this point Ref called him out for delaying the start. Personally think Starter is too often ignored and Ref took the right stance.

It’s time 2 min clocks were compulsory ,no problem with messing about in Poland and ignore the start marshals at your peril.

I’d have maybe excluded him when he had to have multiple attempts to start his bike the heat before but not in that heat maybe the ref felt it was more a culmination over the night

After seeing that tonight. Scunthorpe will be in top 3 this year alongside Poole and Glasgow. No one will touch them at home especially when Thompson gets the hang of things as well

Hmm, do we think Scunny are the dark horses then? Gavin Parr said he was most scared of Glasgow and Poole on the podcast.

Still rate Redcar high enough to finish top 2.

Awesome stuff from our top 3 last night & great engine room with Connor in there now. JT is a developing young British Talent & will only grow in this team. Just need to be sensible with how we replace the unlucky ZK & we’re in business for sure this season! Brilliant stuff lads!

Just a word of caution to Scunny fans, the Brum Team are in my humble opinion likely to be the whipping boys, so whilst doing the double over them is no mean feat it remains to be seen as whether or not that can be used as a guide as to how strong Scunny are, suffice to say they are far to good for the Brummies.

To me the "whipping boys" would mean losing by 30+ every away match & 10+ every home match, Birmingham aren't THAT bad!

Tbf Plymouth have almost done that so far this season though rather than Birmingham!
