Riders don't like it when it gets watered during the meeting.

and we must not upset the riders... to hell with the fans :t:

This has been a problem for years.....tracks need to be prepared to provide the best racing possible and not to appease riders.

These last few years, they have filled in the holes & smoothed/levelled the track to give better racing but now doctor/rough up the starts to make gating the most important part of set ups.

Well a win is a win but wouldn't want to watch that every week and paid £11-99 for the privilege.Plymouth were poor and if the starts were doctored packed with loads of dirt then they all should have been whizzing away.Know nothing about track prep etc but there was no passing it was gate and go but even with my Poole hat on that's no good at least the track is hole and bump free.Early days yet but we do look strong can't see our reserves losing many races at home

Not our fault if Plymouth are rubbish at gating. The grippy starts have been a thing at Poole for a while now, nothing new.

Hmmm interesting coming from an Edinburgh fan ;)

He's an idiot. The trackman normally at Poole 4/5am normally so what was he on about there. Also Poole track was way worse when he rode for us! Just a bad loser.

But hey if the track is such an issue Richie can always come down for 4am next time Plymouth are down and do it himself for free!!

actually think Terry has done a brilliant job getting the track smooth at Poole

Others pointing out exactly what I brought up & Poole fans.

Who is the expert now!

The ripped starts is a home advantage thing I guess. As last season Danny King said a lot of away riders don't like the ripped starts and it almost gave the Poole riders a headstart.

Just posting about what I have read before & riders quotes.

Belle Vue & Peterborough rip up/machine rake starts & as a poster has said on here, so do Leicester.

By the way, I have never been to Poole but watch clips from the British Speedway site & Youtube.

Are we the only club that does this?  I wouldn't have thought so personally, therefore is it really that much of an advantage?

All 4 gates are ripped up equally therefore all 4 riders have the very same equal 'advantage'.

I doubt we are the only ones. Maybe Poole rip it up more than others, idk. Just repeating what was said at the time :)

I thought it was kind of universal starts should be grippy, never considered it something that gave a particular home advantage. I think Leon said on bsn that Berwick had asked for theirs to be a bit slicker but most tracks I've seen have ripped up starts

Yeah, same. I didn't think much of it until King mentioned it in an interview last season.

It was on the British Speedway podcast sometime last season I think.

Off topic i was told the council had taken over the administration and money collection at the car park on speedway evenings,if true anybody know why? Believe the daytimes were recently subbed to a seperate firm by stadia uk

I believe car park is still run by stadium, just an out sourced company collects the revenue for them.

The stadium parking app is Just Park or you can pay cash on entry. The people taking the cash are the same as in recent seasons.

Only Richie moaned about it in an interview. Said it was the worst it has ever been at Poole (a lie! - although track wasn't great, was better on Good Friday - defo has been worse then that tonight though) And also the track wasn't as bad as this when he rode for Poole (another lie - as I seem to remember lots of bumps and holes, even one made by Rob Lambert and Craig Cook when KL visited).

Moan about the track but don't twist the past to suit your agenda. And also the crap about the trackman was very unnecessary. Good job it isn't me is all I'm saying!

Maybe he should stay at home on May 3rd :t:

Just caught up with it on the BSN, what a soar looser, the track was most definitely worse when he last rode for Poole

Agreed during the day but apparently council employees collecting cash last night?

I assume the car park - as with the whole stadium - is owned by the Council, so whoever takes the money (cash or app) surely hands it over to the Council less their agreed 'commission'.

As I say last night the guys and gals taking the cash were the same ones as in past seasons....!
