So in their BSN mini league Redcar allow probably their main rival for qualification Scunthorpe to use one of their riders Jason Edwards as a guest. Only in speedway. The sport has no credibility!

So what's the alternative,  a ndl 2 pointer dropped in and hope.  It's OK complaining about the guest system but, without a alternative what do you suggest ?

A guest from one of the other groups?

A very simple alternative is you can't guest against a team in your own group, there would still be up to 6 clubs to choose guests from (depending on fixtures).

Guests only from another group.

Sorry, but its not that simple. With Edinburgh entertaining Glasgow, that night and Poole entertaining Oxford, it would come down to Berwick and Plymouth, to choose from. Supposing they had suitably  averaged  riders and they were available.

Maybe it shouldn't be simple? Surely giving the sport more credibility is more important than making it "simple" to find a guest?

Might even encourage clubs to look for replacements than reply on guests?

Using Edinburgh as an example, I wouldn't even look for a replacement for Pickering, no matter how long he is out for, with his average there are plenty of available heat leaders to guest for him! Nothing to do with lack of available replacements - I think guests would be stronger, so why not use them?

If there aren't any riders available use R/R. I won't be paying to watch any BSN Mickey Mouse Cup trophy meetings this year partly due to this farcical situation and I'm not the only one. Money lost to the sport I'm afraid.

Agreed British speedway always take the easy option rather than building credibility. Why go to the effort of signing an injury replacement when you can just borrow another teams rider. What a sport!
