Most resulted in riders hitting mesh fence instead of the poly foam. Wonder if something should be done. We’ve had two, and one of them was possibly intentional. I do often wish the polyfoam extended a bit further but I don’t know much about the implications of doing that, or rules. It’s not the most common place for riders to crash at Ashfield, and in the Poland Test match in 2021, one of the visiting riders (Kubera, I think) crashed into the fence in the middle of the back straight. I guess that’s why he told Marcin Nowak the place is dangerous…

Knudsen's crash would have happened same way no matter what fence he hit as the impact was worth the track no the fence

Our bends are a bit square and riders hit the fence just beyond the air fence - Luna and Rajkowski spring to mind. I mentioned this some years ago on FB and got a rather sour reply saying the way it was had been passed by the track inspectors.
Gazc
Reading this would have you believe that it’s only Glasgow that has these crashes. It’s a dangerous sport and happens on an almost daily basis at all tracks Glasgow is no more dangerous or safer than any other track.

I did wonder if this might be part of it. I suspect the bike would react much worse to incidental contact with polyfoam than the metal fence - and Harris, Basso and Vissing all regularly scrape it, especially into turn 1.
