Shall we drop Emil and Hume and get two 6 pointers in then?

there’s always going to be drawbacks when building teams to a points limit, if you build more strength in depth you won’t have the same top end strength we have in Emil and Doyle, rew will improve, Hume will improve as the season goes on and Erik will be back. The biggest bummer is losing Thomas as I think he was one of the better rising stars - at this stage it seems a step too far for joe

How bizarre! I made no comment about changes.

Even though he defeated Bewley, Hume still only scored 6 from 7, which simply isn't good enough by the senior reserve at home ... and I doubt that he will improve significantly.

Gotta disagree with the last sentence, if it was a 5 point reserve like Jakobsen or Kerr then yes, the team has been built to score well at reserve.

But you can't just pick a lower averaged reserve & expect him to score well just because he's stronger than the RS!

Also Ipswich wouldn't have needed so much from Hume, if they gave him a stronger reserve partner!

One strong reserve is a key ingredient of a successful team.

They chose Hume, and he will be expected to do better - I'm sure Hume will want to do better too.

Ippo beaten by Kings poor performance. With Riss not available for a misdemeanour for Redcar ( nowt to do with Ippo) you do need your other team members to score their average .
Rain affected track wouldnt have helped the  less experienced riders.

Misdemeanour?  He was unwell.

Wright and Brennan showing their fighting spirit tonight...

What was that about? Someone has put photos on twitter showing their disagreement and another fan said Wright was 'screaming in his face..' Surely nothing that bad happened?

Certainly did - looked like Wright was gonna nut him. Rode into him like you would an opponent you were pissed with and stuck the lid in. Then when they dismounted at the pit gate went at him again screaming and finger pointing right in his face

That's not good - did anyone see what happened beforehand?

Not a lot

In the standard cut and thrust of lap 1 Brennan possibly blocked Wights run and effectively ended his challenge for the lead

Have seem plenty worse - certainly no need for that reaction

From memory on previous visits when with Somerset Wright seemed to have a similar lack of understanding when partnered with Starke....

Hume scored 5+1 from his 4 programmed rides including a 5-1 with Emil over two riders who are significantly higher ranked than him - he was never going to score in heat one unless he got third!

he had 6 rides not 7 (the updates site is wrong) one was RR in heat one the other replacing his reserve partner late on.

From my vantage point there was nothing to warrant it - I was filling in the programme and missed seeing it but Kevin Long mentioned it - which made me look up to see what all the fuss was about - one hopes they shook hands and forgot about it soon after!

Good lad Charlie...

A bit of passion never went amiss..

You don't have to be friends to be winners in team sport..

Cole and Sheringham once  won a  treble not talking to each other...;)

Wright was in my view one of the reasons you won on Thursday! he generally goes well at Foxhall.

I’ve argued with team mates in football a fair bit over the years always forgotten about afterwards!

I like Charles Wright and I understand emotions run high in what's an adrenaline filled sport but an experienced rider chastising a young teammate on track isn't a good look IMO. Hopefully Mark Lemon has nipped it in the bud and warned CW about his future conduct.
