Do you not think it’s pretty clear what happens when Cook comes across Basso exiting turn 2??

I've now watched it in landscape and yes that is clear, doesn't show the incident going into bend 3 though which is what I think caused the red mist to come over Craig.

Regardless of what causes the red mist to come over Craig, the fact that he purposely knocks another rider off (which his tweet all but confirms) is disgusting and he should be fined for such an action, there is no place in the sport for moves like that. Hard racing, yes. Purposely knocking off the opponent because they upset you and you can't handle hard racing against you, absolutely not. Horrible.

Fail to see the relevance………doesn’t warrant the resultant outcome.

The tweet doesn't actually say he purposely went to knock Basso off, he says he gave him some hard riding back after he had dished it out to himself.

If you actually watch the video slowed down Craig was committed to that inside line, Basso was mid track and locks up a little moving back towards Craig where they unfortunately meet, it was still the correct decision to exclude Craig but I don't think it was as deliberate as people are making out.

Sorry, so what do you take have a spoon full of concrete to mean if not it a deliberate move?

Doesn’t he just mean he needs to harden/toughen up. I’ve not seen the incident so difficult to comment but the consensus seems to be that Cook was in the wrong. Can’t really see the fallout on Twitter either as he blocked me ages ago for telling him his social media persona needed some finessing.

Maybe it's the Motherwell in me but if you're told to eat the concrete it's because your face has been put in it. Deliberately I may add lol.

Honestly I've no issue with the move, got carried away, Ben obviously knows cookie uses that line to pass at ashfield and put himself in it. It's the fallout afterwards I have an issue with and the cowardice of doing it on twitter

I think that was the point I was kind of trying to make, the twitter fallout is making the move seem a lot worse than it actually was!

Wow :o you got blocked for that! I got blocked for either telling him off about holegate or a dodgy move. Been so much stuff at Poole over the years I can't remember which one it was! :D

i was watching it from the pits ben cuts to the inside and passes him going into bend 3 before cookie could shut the door and  if you see cookies line on bends 1/2 second lap he goes tight but doesn't  have the drive out of the bend that’s why ben passed him but next lap cookie changes his line to try cut bens run but just goes straight into the side of him pretty sure it’s the same move that think it was Charles wright did to cookie  at redcar last year

Heat of the moment stuff on twitter and he should know better to stay off it right after a meeting.

Just so happens now he’s on the other side certain individuals calling him out but never had an issue with him riding half the season last year for their side.

Anyway bring on the next derby.

Which is easily deleted..... but hasn't been.

All I'm saying is that he does himself no favours.

I get what you’re saying but In the Redcar incident Wright lifts violently off bend 2 and had really nowhere to go

Last night Cook was in complete control and tried a line which Ben had covered but continued to proceed anyway and wiped Ben out he had the choice to shut off but didn’t.

From viewing the conclusive video evidence that doesn't show the incident on the preceding lap.

I'd say CC exiting bend 2 did go a bit wider than needed but BB if he's as good as he/everybody thinks should be far more aware of what's happening. I've seen similar incidents countless times. It's racing. Like someone posted earlier the Danes are trained to ride hard but always spit the dummy when on the receiving end.

Mountain out of a molehill springs to mind.

I don't think many people have a problem with the move itself... It's the remarks on Twitter that people have a problem with, petulant child springs to mind... And whether it was or it wasn't, his comments make it sound like he wiped him out on purpose, which if that's the case then it's totally unacceptable.

Basso is a good enough and talented enough. Doesnt need to ride like that. Good for the punter to see how future meetings between the 2 riders go.  Also adds to the GB v Denmark shenanigans following Woffinden-Madsen & Kerr - Palm Toft clashes lol
