pugwash
As for the opinion of non-UK Wildcards, can you imagine the Polish GP with non Poles as Wildcards? As for David Ruud as a Wildcard? Funny stuff I like it. How about Carl Baldwin aswell Difference is, Poles have a hatfull of riders who are up to G.P standard. If we do have to have 2 brit wildcards, Middlo should only consider the riders who bothered to try and qualify in the last qualifiers. If you couldn't be arsed to qualify, why should you be given a wildcard entry? Edited May 4, 2004 by pugwash
Jive
I would definately nominate Norris for one of them just for tv interviews alone, the bloke just has to be on tv for me to fall about laughing The other I would choose between Havelock and Screen, Havelock for his love of Britain but I feel screen would go further in a gp....... coin toss Havelock
sirmatty
after seeing david howe at swindon on thursday no way can he get the vote 4 a wild card 4 the gp and his average in the lowest no1 average in the league
tony159
On this seasons form got to go for Norris . Second choice Chris Neath as the most improved youngster . Would possible consider Compton.......... but where is he ? Not been see in the South yet this year .
shirls
I would definately go for Norris, just love to see him talking on T.V, he really makes me laugh, and i definately think he is good enough for a wild card and probably chris neath as well. 21st century heathen
Agree that Norris is great in front of the camera, so I'd be happy enough for him to get the nod. He is in great form too, so it's justified. In general terms though I think it's good to give the younger riders, who hopefully will be in the GPs in years to come, the experience. At least when it comes to big meetings they will have at least one under their belt. There can't be much more pressure than the Millenium Stadium, with 40k+ all desperate for you to do well. I'd like to think that riders like David Howe, Chris Harris, Simon Stead, Danny Bird, and Chris Neath (maybe others) have a genuine chance of increasing British interst in future GPs. With these guys in mind I say give Chris N. and Danny a chance.

Jez
Love to see Joe & Gary but thats me being biased. Expect it to be Joe (entertainment) and Stoney (add a few to the gate)
Jenn
David Norris should definatly get the nod and I would love Joe to get the other wildcard..................but realistically i expect the 2nd spot to be between Danny Bird and Chris Neath...................out of those 2 id go for Danny
Splatty
ok can anyone tell me why David Norris is a good candidate? What is the advantage of giving him a spot? In my mind there are only two candidates based on current form and with an eye on the future - Danny Bird and Chris Neath
-DelBoyRodders-
The times I have seen Bird ride he has been PANTS.I think the highest score I have seen him get in about 8 meetings is 4 points I don't think it's fair to judge anyone on a cycle speedway track like eastbourne. Bird has been in great form for Reading and Ipswich this season.
21st century heathen
The one thing I forgot to say in my previous post was that the Millenium Stadium is almost identical to Monmore. Chris has shown he can pop out the start with the best of them, and even beat Lukas and Lee from the back. He's got the pace and knowledge of that size/shape track. Perhaps gives him the edge? (shudder!!! sound too much like a Wolves fan now...give it Floppy and Shaggy )
Fat Tractor Man
I would give the 2 spots to the guys who qualified from the weekend i.e. pick 2 from 3 of David Norris Stuart Robson or Chris Neath unfortunately Stuart ,who is having the best E/L season of his career so far, is classed as never going to get as top line by the majority of Bees whingers which will probably have done his chances no good whatsoever but the true supporters know you will always get 100% plus in every race from him and I think he deserves a big stage to ride on .The other spot is very hard too choose I would go for David simply because he is performing really well this year and he aint getting any younger whereas Chris will just keep improving into hopefully a regular top flight rider and he has age on his side.I would also throw Joe Screen into the hat who is much improved now he is back where he belongs (B/V) thats 2 from 4 now without even trying I sure as hell wouldn,t want to be Middlo .Don,t forget peeps whoever we get to watch at Cardiff we support long and hard to get a Brit on top .cheers all Mick

Guest Alexander
Top two British rider based on EL averages should be in: 9.79 Mark Loram (Arena-Essex..5..GB..33) after 38 rides 9.78 David Norris (Eastbourne..4..GB..31) after 18 rides 9.02 Scott Nicholls (Ipswich..6..GB..25) after 43 rides 8.73 James Grieves (Wolverhampton..1..GB..29) after 11 rides Mark and Scott are already there, so it has to be David and James. Simple!
woody-the-bee
as much as i'd like to think that method would work... it wont. i'd like to see stuart robson and joe screen get the nod, possibly biased bees view though. i think that it'll be stonehewer and screen (could chris louis make a surprise bid for the wildcard?)
