Just signed up and paid the 14.99 for the PCMT match on Monday, looking forward to it. Thank you for the stream.

I will be selecting various matches during the season to watch, haven't got the time to watch ALL the matches nor the spare cash for it so I will have to be selective.

What’s the weather like, forecast isn’t too good for later

Light rain overnight (also a fair amount of rain on Sat night). Still raining now. Odd shower for most of today then light rain returning around 6pm

I can’t see this going ahead. Looks terrible. Hope they can move it to Wednesday which is a dry day.

they will make an early decision I think. But as we have seen the forecast is changing by the hour so you never know.

Yep, weather forecast looks terrible and Wednesday would be better, however the club have just updated Twitter with another post advertising the event.  5 rider-semi and 6 rider final.

BBC weather for Manchester on my phone shows Wednesday better but not by much.

There's only 5hrs hours to go before the bikes roar into life to kick off the British Speedway season, and what a season opener it will be! Let's remind ourselves how the draw is looking... we're definitely in for some tasty races, who are you rooting for?    "

Posted at 14.00, still on as far as they are concerned.  I'm 15miles away to the west and light rain was forecast to start here about an hour ago, no sign of it yet, cloudy but certainly not heavy, the highest likelihood of rain is forecast for 19.00 onwards but still only light rain.

As always it's pot luck but I'll be having a rare trip over unless things change considerably.  Hope this helps anyone thinking of chancing the trip, no comebacks allowed though.

Bone dry with a nice breeze here in the city centre… defying the previous forecast. 7mm of rain due in the next 24hours according to my iPhone…. Surely not enough to postpone.

I hope for Belle Vue’s sake they’ve got a better weather forecaster than me, otherwise it’s a speedway shambles before we even start.

Whilst I’m not advocating running in the worst of weather, I thought this track was supposed to be great with drainage and seem to remember the Covid year British Final was run behind closed doors in atrocious conditions.

Started another season with optimism, hopped on a train (£50 x 2), booked a hotel (£50) and pre booked tickets (2x£26)…. Don’t think I’ll be bothering again this season in the UK if I’m honest.

All weather forecasts say rain from 5pm right through to 10pm, some of it heavy, absolutely the right decision.  If your going to quit due to a meeting in March getting rained off, then speedway's not for you.

It was always going to be off if you'd checked the Met Office radar, surprised they didn't just call it off earlier. It's forecast heavy rain of upto 8mm of rain per hour from 6pm all night, impossible to start in that. The radar has showed it clear all day which it has been.

Knowing the possibility of a rain off is a risk you take when you pay to travel to events such as this (especially in march!). All forecasts have stayed dismal and they left it as late as they could for it to change and it still didn’t. I’m sure if the meeting had gone ahead and then got rained off early on you would also be calling it a “speedway shambles”! No pleasing some people.

Speedway meetings in March and October are, in my opinion, stupid ideas.  The National Speedway Stadium can take a lot of water, but once saturated it just cannot take any more. It may have been light rain all day but the damage was done, and the forecast from 6pm is not kind at all. From what I see of the forecast, Wednesday looks no better - hope I proved wrong.
