Tsunami
The best burgers in speedway were at Newcastle in the early 00's. Track burgers were crap so we bought prime beef direct from a small butcher and served them them in a specially provided caravan beside the office doors. We used to sell out every week with big queues and the track owners were against us selling them and we had to pay a premium for selling from the caravan. We then started to serve hot drinks as well, as the owners had not provided a disabled lift as per the regulations and it meant that disabled fans didn't need to go upstairs for anything. We got loads of praise for the quality of the beef. Perhaps Halifaxtiger can remember them, can you Chris ?.

*JJ
23 hours ago, HGould said: Absolutely JJ it is ARC Stadium fault. As you'll know its even worse than their food and staff though. The sight of their ARC stadium security making speedway supporters hand in sandwiches and plastic water bottles before entering PB for speedway was an utter disgrace and alienated many. That was ludicrous ... as with the dozen or so useless 'security' guards which the promotion had to pay for!

I think Rob was a rider for us in those days, but Darryl Illingworth knew this butcher so we went with him. Bellers101
The beef burgers at Middlesbrough's Cleveland Park were top notch back in the day. Berwick's were good when Anderson was there and Grants at Newcastle last year were also really nice. I had the misfortune to purchase a pie as I went straight from work it lasted one bite and straight into the bin, I have never looked at pies the same since. Can't comment on their other items but the Coffee and Pie put paid to me ever trying again I was up all night hurling into the toilet after eating those pies last season , never again

mikebaker
Of the defunct tracks. The Steakwiches at Crayford, were very good. Fond memories of those at London Road.
Chris116
In the London area the worst burgers I ever had were at Harringay. Admittedly speedway had finished a few years earlier but I doubt if they were any better in the speedway days and I can say they were dreadful in the stock car and banger days during the 60s and 70s.
