Track and Riders?

Somebody on Facebook is asking whether anyone can identify the riders and track in the attached photograph. The photo is hanging on a pub wall in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. The nearest tracks, looking on a map, seem to be Swindon and Bristol.

I don't know the answer , but did either (or both) Swindon and Bristol have a dog track betwen the speddway track and spectators??

Well, Bristol and Swindon did in the more modern era, but I'm not sure about when the photo was taken.

I can't help either, but would welcome knowing which Pub it's in?

For some reason Tetbury makes me think of Tig Perry.

My mate says the picture can't be recent because the tyres look in good condition. (Sorry)

I will ask the person on Facebook, the name of the pub.

He said it's the only pub in Hawkesbury Upton (near Tetbury), The Beaufort Arms? Interestingly, a speedway rider, Simon Walker, is from Hawkesbury Upton!

I`m intrigued by this thread because i can`t see how that can be a dog track as it looks far to wide, but what it is i can`t imagine.

Maybe we need some R&R, R&R and visit the Beaufort Arms pub! :drink:
