I'm sure if Jim McGregor send the fixtures to Speedway Star, they will get printed.

Spoke with Jim McGregor last night at Armadale.  He is waiting on information from Edinburgh and will publish once that is forthcoming.

The SS haven't shown an interest in the NJL fixtures and results for a number of years now.

I wonder why, because they do with the MDL.  Could it because results are changed after the referee has sent his official programme in?

Well they shouldn’t be as it wasn’t difficult to work it out at the time, as long as you understood the rule. Shouldn’t be an issue this year with the change in eligibility. The MDL isn’t running so the SS may have space for NJL news for a change.

With just Birmingham and Redcar ? You can’t call that a league .

Never the less, IT IS STILL RUNNING. Well done to Redcar for allowing that to happen, and shame on tracks that would fall in the Midlands area, give or take a few miles, won't give youngsters the same chance.  I realise that they have to rely on parents/guardian taking them everywhere, so maybe that's the reason. But if it is, why does the NJL manage to operate okay?

There has to be some correlation between race nights and a successful amateur league. The NJL operates on Fri/Sat and Sundays so weekend race nights are far easier to accommodate for many. A lot of the lost MDL sides used to operate on weekend race nights also but with the switch to Midweek for the Prem Clubs and disillusionment from others the number of teams has dropped year on year.

It’s still not a ‘MDL league ‘, it’s a challenge fixture between Birmingham and Redcar at best .

As the MDL only used 500 riders the parents/guardian issue wouldn’t have a great deal of bearing , the NJL manages because of Jamie Swales getting the 125’s integrated into the league in 2013 which the MDL refused to do , very short sighted in my opinion. Also the NJL is run by the clubs themselves not ‘ghost teams’ although they did have Halifax and Castleford at various times in the their history.
