It’s all about clicking at the same time, will be interesting to see how Pooles riders that are now racing in Poland and doubling up in the premier will do with the extra rides and traveling, last year for Glasgow towards the important end of the season the riders that were doing a lot of rides all over Europe seemed to run out of steam.

Oh, I thought it was the big gap Glasgow had in fixtures?

Well I think it was as there was nearly two months between Glasgows last home league meeting and their home semi final v Poole but looking at their scores one could argue that Basso and Brennan were starting to burn out in October.

Official ranking now.

1. Poole (Strongest reserve pairing in the league, Very reliable top two and both Cook's are only going to improve again)

2. Redcar (Really like everything about this team outside of James Shanes, Can easily be replaced by Dan Thompson or something after the first set of GSA's)

3. Glasgow (Very good 1-5 but the reserves may see them fall short again next season, Complin's real 2022 average was 3.08 I think so that's a poor signing imo)

4. Plymouth (Very good side and they're the dark horses in 2023 if Barker behaves himself off the track)

5. Scunthorpe (Should go very well at Home as always, Poses a threat to the teams above if Jake Allen finds his old form)

6. Edinburgh (Consistency could be an issue with this side imo, Castagna, Fredriksen and Hook can all be hit or miss, Craig Cook has to find his old form as well)

7. Oxford (Tail end is far too weak to do any damage, Nicholls has got one eye on retirement as well so Scotty could be set to drop his average again imo)

8. Berwick (Too many question marks over the top two, Weak reserves)

9. Birmingham (Lacks Heat Winners and the engine room isn't good)

Nothing to do with the unavailability of certain rider then?!

Don't understand the anti James Shanes comments by many, anyway I can only see Redcar riders upping their averages, so can't imagine how they would be able to bring in Dan T for Shanes!

No arguing at all. Brennan was done in those finals, but he raced on until he physically couldn’t.

I think I’m the only non - Birmingham supporter who likes the look of there team :D

sedgeman turned himself around massively from a season where he was dropped by both his championship and premier team into a two point increase in his average and performing well at Sheffield too.

Nick Morris scored himself out of position elsewhere this season, should be getting at least 5 rides a night so I’m hoping he does well.

surely everyone can agree that the side looks stronger than what I did in 2022

Stronger in the fact we have a No 1 who should ride most weeks and not rely on Guests.

Sedgeman arrived in UK late and hungry and it showed in his Racing. The only niggle with him is that at times in the past he's sat in a comfort zone. Maybe he has now matured and realised he has to give 100% all the time. Riders like Bowtell certainly ride with passion and hunger and possibly we haven't had that in the recent past.

Much will depend on Neisen staying injury free and James Wright or Neilsen becoming a solid and relaible engine room.

Think you'll be surprised by Complin, I'm expecting him to up his average this year

Fair play to Complin in that he stuck at it all last season and improved as race fitness returned. Unlike riders like Bridger and JP-B, in recent seasons, who came back talking a good race but who both vanished again pretty quickly.

I think Lee has realised that to go to the next level; and towards a level he was previously at, he needs to shed some weight to help him get out of the starts better and strong rumours that he has done that.

If he conitnues to regain fitness and sticks around, no reason why he cant get at least a 5 point average and aim higher looking at some of the other early reserve pairings and nothing breeds confidence like winning racing and enjoying racing.

Wasted 4 points on Morris/Pearson combined.....Bowtell is a Championship reserve at best....Wright has probably had his best days...Nielsen is a solid second string and will never be a Heat Leader....Sedgemen is average if he misses the gate.....

The highlight of the Season will be to see if Pearson can improve...

I for one am glad that there's only 8 Home League meetings with this team.

Having said all that...fair play to the promoters for continuing...I really hope I'm wrong and we have a successful season.

Alfie is definitely better than just a reserve if u look at his home scores no2  for Plymouth 8/9+ bonus nearly every meeting

Alfie is so much better than just a CL reserve... He's probably Birmingham's best rider after Nick and Justin imo... Most likely to push on and be '3rd heatleader' although I even agree he's not that good... Very good number 2 or solid number 4 at best...

Wasn't his actual home ave around 7 and away below 3 last year?  Not getting past a good home banker second string for me.

Bowtell at Plymouth 7.33 (8.83) was a heat leader. Bowtell away from home 2.43 (2.57) was a weak reserve. Hopefully for Birmingham's sake he can ride Perry Barr well.
