Archie Freemen, who suffered a broken leg in his first race for Berwick Bandits Speedway Bullets in their defeat at Belle Bue Colts this afternoon.
Mum Gillian said: “Archie is currently sleeping off sedation, he's had a leg manipulation due to large amount of swelling from leg break of tib and fib. He will hopefully have an op in the morning and will spend 5 to 7 days in hospital.

Quick glance through the averages & Jack Kingston (6.45) looks the best replacement for Archie. Sadly I think it'll be a long lay-off for the young man

Can't see Kingston wanting to travel from Essex to Berwick for home matches.    Ben Rathbone may be a better fit.

I'd agree Kingston isn't likely, but it's only 7 home matches. Depends how keen he is. Rathbone is more likely, but only weakens the weakest team in the league (in my opinion).

Team news for tonights match at Leicester, taken from Berwick`s Twitter page

Archie Freeman will be replaced by George Congreve and we will utilise rider replacement for Mason Watson. Good news for the Bullets, Josh Embelton will ride today and Bailey Fellows will take the number eight race jacket as cover!

While it might be hoped he won't be tested in such a way, Bailey Fellows is permitted to take up to seven rides tonight.

A rule amendment applying only to National League racing

Certainly an interesting amendment.  See how it pans out this year.....could be mega abused in some cases later in the season.
