Technically he hadn't raced that evening, , would he also get the point if he got injured in the practise session? If a rider has been excluded from a heat then technically they have raced. As far as I'm aware, no points are awarded for 17th or 18th place, so presumably an rider withdrawing before the heats would be replaced by a reserve who likely finish in the top 16 and be awarded points accordingly. Similarly, riders getting injured during the Heats 1-20 would be awarded points according to where they were classified.

a4poster
One other thing. If a Grand Prix rider scores 6 pts - 2 race wins - but only competes in two races is his score better than a rider who scores six points, no race wins, 2 second places, 2 third place and one last place in the qualifying heats? a4poster
Thanks for the reply. I should have added the rider scored 6pts - 2 race wins, but only competed in two of his qualifying heats. where as the other rider scored six points from all his programmed rides. Thanks. No-one has a clue… Heat 17: Adams, Hancock Fn, Holder Fn, Loram d 67,98 Comments: Adams gates and takes the lead. On the back straight Loram finds incredible speed, passes bot Holder and Hancock on the inside only to clip Hancocks front wheel out mid turn. Holder has no where to go, flies over the fence and is knocked out. Hancock breaks a collarbone, both out of the meeting. Adams wins the rerun on his own with Loram excluded. Third lap back straight Rickardsson slams Smith in to the fence leaving Kylmäkorpi clueless what to do. He hits the bike of the fallen Smith and breaks a finger. The problem with that is a rider could be knocked off & injured in his last ride (finishes 8th) and the guy who knocked him off (finishing 9th) gets his semi-final spot! I think that was exactly my main point and should never happen. If your 9th, your night is over no matter how many above you are out of the meeting.
