Are you sure ?- did a lot at Newport Speedway when he retired. He was a mate of Tim Stones and was clerk of the course for years.

Not my 'neck of the woods' I'm afraid. Poor Tim, that's another story. RIP Tim too.

I'm sure Brian also did a lot of grass track in the Wales, Hereford and Bristol area . He had a machining/engineering business in the Cwmbran area at one time, he did some valve seats on a Jawa for us once.  He and Tim Stone put in a lot of effort for Newport Speedway, now all sadly gone.

One of Lew Coffins trainees. He won the Weymouth Speedway Training School Championship in about 1970 before embarking on an excellent career as listed by Racers and Royals. In his later spells at Weymouth he was always a very good heat leader and definitely the best team rider we ever had. One night at Workington our two reserves got beat for a 5-1 in heat two but each of them came out in their next ride as Brian’s partner and he somehow got them out in front and then blocked all attempts by the home pair to get past. A Weymouth 5-1 each time. And that was a verY strong Comet’s team at the time.

RIP Brian and thanks for (usually spectacular) memories.

Brian was a lovely, gentle and amusing fella. He travelled regularly with us, recently as last month when h visited the Czech G Helmet and Torun. He was always a happy smiling face, polite and good company. The Speedway World will miss him, we at TRAVEL PLUS TOURS will miss him hugely, but its his loss to his family which will be felt the most. Rest well "Woody" its been a huge pleasure and honour. JAMES EASTER.
