Birmingham Brummies 2023

As pointed out Ladbrokes (as we know them to keep it simple) are kicking speedway out of Monmore but keeping very lucrative Dogs as they are longstanding Bags track beamed round world.

ARC who run Perry Barr and who own Wolverhampton Horse Racing Track are leaving PB and taking that operation to Wolverhampton Horse Racing Track. There ARC will transfer lucrative Bags licence from PB worth 65k a week I was told and run horses and dogs, already have hotel on site.

Can't see how PB could run with Speedway only.

How long ARC take to set up Wolves Dog track at Horse track will be key.

I hope Nigel isn't relying on Regional Mayor Street, a jump on the bandwagon Charlie not a genuine campaigner. Might have more joy out of City Council who put on Commonwealth Games and at least didn't object to speedway returning to PB.

If Council goes Tory though forget it, they'll develop anything not tied down by cast iron covenants.

CVS seems positive about a Moto Park and Wolverhampton Council seem keen to help. Possibly more accessible land in Wolvo within proximity to M54 Junction by new Jag LR Plant.

Are they planning restrictions  based on Speedway and Greyhounds? If so then once the dogs go, surely it would make sense for Wolves to move into PB at least in the short term.

Didn't the BSPA(L) put a stop to teams not riding at their own track a few years back (Cradley at Wolves for one)?  Has that stance changed since then?

Ladbrokes/Entain  own Monmore, ARC (a different group) lease Perry Barr it's ARC that have applied for a new Greyhound track at there own Horse racing Track in Wolvo, Monmore Greyhounds will be continuing at Monmore indeed it is according to the spokesman the injuries caused by Shale on the Greyhound track that the Speedway has been given notice at Monmore, even if the Greyhounds move from Perry Barr to Wolvo the Speedway could still continue at Perry Barr, in actual fact it could be to the Brummies benefit if they continue at PB because if PP is applied for to develop PB the council who own PB may feel duty bound to provide the Brummies with an alternative venue.

Sounds familiar,,, although not beyond the realms of possibility, probably outside the laws of probability. Keeping shale off the dog track could be done but, maybe the work involved could be beyond the promotion and (usually) the time and effort from volunteers to carry out a successful job. Who folds first?

Speedway only allowed once a week.

If the dogs at PB go, then something needs to be done to make the stadium pay. Could a stadium last, entertaining one speedway meeting per week, six or seven months of the year. If the council support keeping the stadium for speedway, surely some of the restrictions need lifting.

Probably all down to numbers at the end of the day?

I think that this would be less of a problem if there was one League and clubs had more freedom to re-arrange fixtures, as opposed to being controlled by fixed race nights?

Fixed race nights don't really exist though, do they? Leicester ran a Premiership Leagues match the other Saturday.

Well, they do indirectly? by that, I mean, if a club runs from a stadium that they don't own, then they can only race on certain/dictated nights/days.

Which means that "dedicated race nights" are a complete fallacy and mean nothing!! I doubt there will be such a thing in 2024 ("dedicated race nights"), as there (probably) won't be enough teams for three leagues!
