The potential planning development for Perry Barr has been picked up by the Birmingham Mail now :-

Reading the comments speedway needs to distance itself from animal sports. It will only end one way if speedway remains a tenant of greyhounds.

I think we are now down to six tracks shared with greyhounds. Four of those are under threat (Monmore, Perry Barr and Armadale, and Sheffield), leaving just two where the sports still seem to co-exist Kevin Boothby owned Oxford and Mildenhall

Don't think there are dogs at Armadale any more.

The problem is potential housebuilding.

Im sure i remember years ago when Smart and Lobb got caught, Smart held his hands up and admitted it and Lobb refused a second test for a while therefore got a longer ban?

Makes sense. No different to a criminal court. If you admit your guilt you’ll get a more lenient sentence for honesty (and saving time and expense on hearings, admin etc).

As for second tests in this case, both samples need to be taken at the same time for the testing process to maintain integrity.

There were plenty of comments like that in the local rag in Swindon and we know how that panned out New stadium Dogs only

So on BSN tonight is was stated that if Brum make the playoffs, they are looking at bringing in a rider who would turn them into title favourites.

So who are they talking to? And what rider could turn them into a team that could beat Poole over two legs? Not even Zmarzlik could manage that!

They also said Bowtell would be getting 7 rides. How well has that worked out?

It'd need to be either Gandalf the Grey or Gandalf the White, together with his war chest of wonderous wizardry.

To give an idea of the scale of the problem that this one signing would have to solve, a quick reminder of today's score...Scunthorpe 51, Brummies 25 + Guest 14.

Actually Scunthorpe 46 + 5 guest. Not sure what that really means anyway as Oxford scored 22 + guests 20 for example

Find that hard to believe, but then again Birmingham promotion have often overestimated their teams ability. For the last two seasons Tolley has basically said they will be a play-off side, but they've yet to achieve that. He's not even suggested it's a possibility, more talked of it being a guarantee as I read it

Does that mean they are only looking to sign this rider if they make the play-offs?

Surely if he's going to turn them into title favourites, they should sign him up now to ensure they make the top 6?

I think Nigel has lost the plot or been on the loopy juice or waccy baccy in deepest Kinver Cliff Houses.

He's already claimed to be 200k down.

He's possibly been alerted to someone who could come in on a 12 point average once Poland closes or once a veteran retired type can fit it in and facies blowing another bucket load.

As others have said 15 or 18 points a meeting isn't going to cover deficiencies elsewhere and he'd need to be paying 4 or 5 grand a meeting to get anyone of that calibre.

Simple maths says to cover home and away that said rider would have to put 500 on the gate every meeting at PB.

One offaybe for a Hancock or Nikki type but even that's stretching it.

Its almost admitting guilt not taking the 2nd test

Not really. If the first test was inconclusive (which it must have been to require a second test) then it's inconclusive that he was under any kind of influence of drink or drugs. If i were a lawyer that is how i would argue it.

Most drug testing require 2 samples as per rules though. The 2nd sample can be used to back up the 1st sample for the benefit of doubt in most cases I’ve read about. That surely is a benefit to the sportsperson involved.
