They have obviously signed someone to replace James Pearson (Sam Hagon ?) and Kenyan Rew to replace James Wright would be a very good signing.

Only thing about Rew is you would have to pay to fly him in and out of Poland?

Rew was abysmal at Owlerton on Thursday, he’s really struggled anywhere apart from odd good meeting at Foxhall, not really seen what the hype is about him in UK and think if there’s inconsistency in the Perry Bar track he’ll struggle there also

Cant see that happening...poor team from the start ..miracles  do happen  tho ...

It has all the hallmarks of a Soccer Team deep in relegation mire throwing silly money at a has been midfielder whose legs have gone in a vain attempt to stay up.

Batchelor will get 10 or 11 for a few weeks they'll soon become 6 or 7 and no doubt he'll be on over a grand a meeting by fair means or foul in terms of a guarantee.

Sam Hagon is worth a bash but we'll never own him and is he better than Pearson?

Not really enthused reither way.

Will it bring back the 300 to 400 more we need to be sustainable... Not a chance

At last!

Light at the end of the tunnel!

Look what a 'proper' manager can do!

Looking forward to Wednesday!

Yes. Can only imagine the uproar had Rogers brought in an Aussie that hasn't turned a wheel all year with more than a questionable attitude, and a development rider to push for the play offs....

But, fair play to Tolley for putting his money where his mouth is. Hope it pays off.

Would "any" signings bring in an extra 300 or 400 supporters though? From what ive read on here the speedway public in and around Birmingham just arent having the Brummies!

Does anyone know if Batchelor is already in the UK? Wouldnt he need a visa to ride which would take a few weeks to get signed off?

Or was the Batchelor move already in motion when Rogers was in charge? Will he be available Wednesday?

Personally i think Batchelor is a good signing. Did well with Kent and largely did ok for Ipswich at the tricky no.5 spot.

Sedgman having a great year so keep at 5 and bring Batch in to the engine room with Bowtell. Its an improvement for sure!

I'm not saying they're 'great' signings....but at least he's having a go !

I don't want it to be about 'further/constant' criticism of Rogers, but there's no way he'd of released 'Pearson'? but releasing him is the only way that we could bring in someone of Batchelor's ability!

First thing we need to go now, is change the riding order :

1:   Morris

2:   Dan Thompson

3:   Sedgemen

4:   Bowtell

5:   Batchelor

6:   Hagon

7:   Joe Thompson

3:   Batchelor

4:   Bowtell

5:  Sedgemen

6:   Hagon

7:   Joe Thompson

I think I'd go this route.

I don't disagree with the question.

The better way may be to reduce admission to a tenner and family ticket to 20 quid, make it a school holiday splash and try to get a few hundred in that way.

Invest in jazzing the show up I'd rather invest a few hundred in fireworks and entertainers and facepainters than Batchelor.

Create a buzz and fans of the future.

1) Batchelor will score more than the rider he was replacing - doesn't matter that he's not the rider he once was, still an improvement

2) Hagon is similar to Pearson in the NL, but that's not the change to strengthen up, it was to allow a stronger heat leader. They didn't own Pearson so saying they'll never own Hagon is no change.

3) aside from Zmarzlik, probably no rider would put 300-400 on the gate, they've gotta try something though!

I'll chip in with

1: Morris

2: Dan Thompson

3: H - Sedgemen / A - Batchelor

4: Bowtell

5: H - Batchelor / A - Sedgmen

6: Joe Thompson

7: Hagon

Troy lives in the UK and has a UK passport, so no visa requirements. The move was not in motion prior to Stewart Dickson taking over, yes he will be available Wednesday
