I can't remember the last time I went to a B'ham home match knowing/expecting to win :t:

Must have been in the first two years af the NL era, 2015 - 16. They also did well in the following couple of years but it all fell apart when the Masons took too long to decide to go Championship, and missed out on the best riders. Then Covid, sales etc. :(

There's no excuses this season then ?

Despite the opinions of the usual knowalls in this forum, this isn't too bad a team. Bad luck with injuries etc. aside, we may have a good season ... here's hoping!

I think a strong reserve pairing, failing that, one strong reserve (all season) could pay dividends! (having the advantage of taking 7 rides if needed...)

They still need to beat opposition reserves & 2nd strings. Is 7-10 points good enough from 7 rides?

Who are the 'usual knowalls' out of interest?

The fact that most people think you'll finish bottom should be viewed as a positive, it takes all the pressure off and means there is only one way to go.

People can only judge and speculate on what they see on paper, its what a forum is for. You shouldn't take it personally if folk think thete are eight better teams, they are only opinions after all.

This looks a bit worrying. I always thought there was a covenant on the stadium stating it had to be used for sporting purposes.

https://greyhoundstar.co.uk/perry-barr-pre-planning-application/

Covenant's tend to be unenforceable over time, and if still operative the cost of releasing them is trivial compared with the sums to be gained from developing a site.

A preplanning consultation was lodged in 2022, please check the Birmingham City Council website, it was withdrawn before any consultation took place.

That's a relief. The story on the Greyhound page was yesterday's date, they're a touch slow on the uptake then I guess.

Proving that you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet.
