Happy with that.

He rides with aggression and never gives up.

He's had some decent meetings at PB at CL and NDL level.

Good gater and can make passes too.

Steady improver type who can ride to his average.

Sums Alfie up perfectly, would have been more than happy to have had him at Plymouth for 2023 glad he turned Poole down. :t:

Alfie will do fine for Brum, gutted Plymouth didn't bring him back as I think he'd be a top reserve. Might be a tough ask for him to be in the main body from day dot though especially at a new home track. That being said he's a top lad and I wish him all the best. He'll almost certainly top score for the Brummies when they come to Plymouth that's for sure.

I do like Alfie Bowtell, but he really has to up his away scores (must have the biggest home vs away split in the league 7.33 / 2.43) as Birmingham looking like they could struggle (especially away) next year.

Would agree with that, as when I have seen Alfie ride PB he has always shown a real liking for the track. The 2023 Brummies look like a team built to be strong at home, which after last year's disappointing home defeats is not surprising. Could struggle to win big away, but might pick up the odd point or two and strong home results will obviously help to ensure a few of the bonus points end up with the Brummies. At the moment look like a mid-table team.

so.. its..

Nick Morris... An.other ... Stefan Nielsen, James Wright, Justin Sedgeman, Alfie Bowtell, James Pearson...

Do I spy a Paco Castagna sized void at #2?

No... I haven't done the averages sums.

Feel it needs to be a Bewley size void at 2. Love Alfie but i can see half the team heading to him for advice. Consistency is not a word you can attach to any rider so shock away wins may occur but equally a few thumping home defeats.

Morris averaged 10+ last year, you don't do that inconsistently!

Actually he WAS inconsistent. His rolling ave is 10.13 (last 10 matches) but his average for the whole season was 9.33, showing he wasn't as good early on, but came on strong. In May he actually had a 7.90 ave!

Add to that his home/away street wasn't great [10.30/7.77]
