They were strong in the National League, but have always been a bottom half team since joining the Champ.

Birmingham speedway started (again) in 2007, when they finished IIRC 3rd in the league. Except for the injury-wrecked 2009, they were usually in the top few teams. They went into the Elite league in 2012, and as I said, was top of the league in 2013 but lost the play-off final when Poole signed the World Champion for the event! They won the National League in 2015 and 2016, but left it too late to sign good riders on re-joining the Championship in 2019, and have never got going since, due to various changes and Covid.

Poole signed Greg Hancock at the end of July 2013 to replace Chris Holder, the 2012 World Champion. He rode in 8 meetings before the play off final!

You forgot to say that Chris Holder was injured, not just replaced.

Imagine how Todd Wiltshire felt before Oxford returned, all the clubs he had ridden for half closed down - Wimbledon, Reading, Bradford & Oxford!

Imagine what Chris Harris must be like - he must of lost count!

Thanks Lisa I’m still in shock when my son walked in the other day with a Southampton shirt because he said it was nice,if he says he likes the pirates next that will send me over the edge lol.

Haha. I like the Saints shirt but a bit controversial with some Saints fans! He is very welcome to support Poole, he'll have a team in the playoffs that way ;):o

I think a stint at reserve will be the make/break of his season? unfortunately Paul doesn't seem to be his usual self atm.

We only have 4 home meetings left anyway, so I cant see any change coming.

See in todays Speedway Star Dickson is hoping to make further changes
