As I've previously said, the people who run British speedway have got to have a plan to go forward and help clubs survive, or move up into other leagues.  but good / any planning  and British speedway don't go together

Agreed , any planning must include all clubs big and small and talk about costs and logistics when forming League set ups and rider involvement .

Hasn't really happened before though has it? And, sadly, can't see that changing.  They've had "wonderful" ideas in the past, which last a year (if that sometimes) before they are scrapped.  Remember a few years ago, when they were telling us that "this is the most important AGM ever" and all they did was bring in the green helmet colour!!

Imo it's too early for the Comets to move up, need to have another year at this level, the people in charge of speedway need a good plan to what is going to happen in the future   as its is now around 4-6 track may not be running next year, top league needs to attract some clubs to replace the ones who will/may lose their stadiums, could go on with more reasons.

But it's speedway day weather looks OK  get down to the northside arena and enjoy watching the comets win  (hopefully)

Berwick promotion have announced they intend running the Bandits next season but not the Bullets.

If there’s so little interest from certain teams and obviously with clubs closing it looks as though it’s probably going to be 2 leagues. The format for this is debatable, you’ve got the old north/south split then merge for a finals series at the end of the season, with the teams not qualifying for the title into another series so that they still have something to ride for? Then the opening meeting the following season could be a 2 leg match between the winners of both trophies?

There’s a lot of big decisions to be made by the SCB/BSPA first before any sort of planning for next season. Instead of it being in November or whenever surely it makes sense to have it at the very latest now so it gives promoters time to prepare for next season and get plans/riders in place.

Changes are discussed during the latter  part of the season at special meetings, and the outcome of these meetings voted in during the AGM usually held third week in November.

Yeah I just think this is where it could be improved. Changes should be tabled until around august then an AGM held this month to get things sorted.

it’s how Poland do things so why not take a leaf out of there book rather than leaving it so late

It it also the way  the BSPL operate, so that most issues are agreed before the AGM in mid November which is intended to rubberstamp the previous decisions.

Team news for this weekend's 3 meetings on the road.

Harry McGurk statement is here

Harry has done the right thing for himself and the club. He obviously needs time out, and probably should have made this decision earlier, but I hope he tries hard during his time away to get back what he seems to have lost. Jordan P has stepped away from the sport and not come back, so just hoping Harry thinks hard and long and makes the correct decision for himself and the club. I wish him well.

Do you mean Jordan Palin? I thought he was taking a year out due to a head injury?
