Gregor and Lewis aren’t doing NDL this year confidence took a battering last year so have decided to step away and just do NJL to try boost it back up. Not many other lads that are up to par to ride NDL close to Armadale and nobody wants to travel so far for a ride.

Well riding in the NJL isn’t going to improve them as they will only go to Berwick and Redcar and ride against novices. Let’s hope Glasgow and Workington can find riders to enlarge the league and bring on some new riders as the sport certainly needs them.

That’s what they want to do can’t force them to ride if they’re not committed to do so. Well we currently have the monarchs academy trying to bring on the next generation shame we need to wait till about 2030 till they’re old enough to compete mind you. So certainly doing a lot more for than a lot of clubs in that aspect.

Another case of the minority ruling over the majority ?

Very sad if that is the case as the sport seems to bend over backwards to please certain clubs demands but this leaves them with just Millar (s ? ) Embleton and Lyden as the rest have signed elsewhere.

Think you'll find that Armadale are the team who wanted the limit increasing to allow Aussies in, not the team suffering from it......

Kyle Bickley        9.58
Jacob Hook        8.00
Lee Complin        7.27
Danny Phillips        6.86
Josh Embleton        3.92
Gregor Millar        3.17
Kyran Lyden        3.00

                              41.80

(Just need a 3.00 rider if Millar can't be convinced to give it another go).

I think so too.   Could see Phillips at either Berwick or Belle Vue.

I was just surprised that after signing Bickley, Hook, Complin, Embleton and Lyden, they could still fit Phillips and a 3.00  so I stuck them in the last 2 places.

Would George Rothery and Luke Muff look more realistic than Phillips/Millar?

Yes, that’s no secret and as some of those are already signed elsewhere hence the demand for a change in the rules to the detriment of British youngsters.

Complin at Glasgow so no chance he’ll be at Armadale.

Berwick own phillips so no brainer there really, seems more realistic with them 2

Here's a few 1 to 1 scale comparisions I had a play with, placing the new track on top of existing ones

Redcar..

A fair bit bigger and wider than Redcar.

KPi93Vu.png

Belle Vue..

Fits inside the dimensions, looks slightly wider perhaps but tighter corners

Sheffield..

Tighter bends, but much much wider.

And Plymouth..

Basically the whole of the Centre Green would fit the Plymouth Track with a bit of Room to spare!!

Having speedway back is great to look forward to but just reading the posts looking like they are sticking to Saturday's.

Never understood the reason to run on a Saturday night as to much else going on espessially all the speedway on TV on Saturdays now. It does not keep much keeping speedway fans away if it's on TV to for them to get there fix.

I would not consider the rugby at all and would either run on Friday or Sunday as I think running reguarly on either would get a better crowd than a Saturday night.

Hope it's a huge sucess after all the cost, work and effort put into this project.

Yeah i've read through the posts and all similar to the reasons previously but the times they have change race night its not a true reflection on what a steady race night would be say on a Sunday or Friday just a simple opinion on why I do not think a Saturday goes against speedway to get the best attendance posible.

It also is affected if people are away for the weekend so Friday or Sunday to me are a no brainer, if it were my buissness i'd never consider a Saturday at all for speedway. I understand at this level it must be weekends due to age of the lads riding as midweek would be difficult.

Are there any speedway teams running on a Saturday afternoon and has there ever been speedway anywhere  ? i hope its not a failure running  meetings on that day @ 3pm ish .

i do know a few regulars that will not be able to attend because of work commitments , but we also dont know how many fans who could not turn up Saturday nights @ Derwent park . i hope the dream comes true for all the people who put the effort into get this up and running works  out .

perhaps Sundays .
