i wasn’t really paying attention last night…are there tactical subs?  what are the rules around using the reserve?  thanks

For the umpteenth time- tac subs when a team is 6 points behind the leading  team - 1 ride only per rider. Only up to heat 16. No 5 can replace another team member at any time and can have 5 rides plus a Tac Sub ride.( Same. Max as other riders)

Because 110 PLN is a lot to a polish person and they aren't interested in supporting anything that they aren't competing in.

Imagine Finland v Italy v Australia v Sweden on a Tuesday night at Scunthorpe. There would be about 45 people there :D

There is never anyone at the early rounds in any country because you always know who's going through.

They would have got a much better crowd by hosting last nights meeting over the border in Germany for instance. Hardly a big deal for logistics etc. Tonights meeting in Denmark , then move to Poland for the last two meetings. 4 meetings in a week in one country is never going to work for crowds or the track

The change in the GB set up from beer and pizzas to the current professionalism has shown it’s value. We struggled for so long as a nation to provide any impact and now we have eclipsed Sweden and may well also eclipse Australia and Denmark.

Although Adam Ellis’s score was less than some wanted, (though few expected different)  his heat 1 win against the current World’s second best rider set GB up for a positive night when we were never headed.
I am sure he’s already analysed what went wrong and is working within the team - fellow riders, team managers, sports specialists and engine tuner to help him improve on Saturday.
Flying in a substitute rider now, whoever that might be, has the potential to undermine the whole team on the grounds of “we don’t believe the group of people who have got GB to the final are the right group, so need to make a change”

I don’t believe for one moment that dropping Adam and bringing in a replacement will suddenly make GB a gold medal team. Time will tell…..

You wouldn’t have too fly in a substitute, just give Brennan a go.

Something that seems to run through the whole GB set up. Reserves aren't used as they could be.

How many times have we sent young lads over on u21/19 team and pairs competitions and the reserve not been given a ride even when rostrum places have been well out of reach. Never going to progress sat there watching.

Czech's putting stichaer in the team and Milik at reserve is probably what got them through into the race off.

Was thinking about this and to me if you're going to allow Tac subs in a meeting like this, then would have thought to be behind by 4 would be enough.  6 in normal league matches enables you to get within 2 points with a 5-1, but a 3 point win here and the leaders run 2nd and you make up a point?????  Think the rule needs looking at if they want it to enable a closer match?

Just my thoughts.

Kemp would be no better, it doesn't really matter who we have but I would give Harris a go, at least he wouldn't give up like Ellis.

Harris has had so many chances and if you put him in that just means you have zero faith in anybody coming through when you’re using the same rubbish all the time.

Everyone knows Harris would not score a hat full of points on Saturday but the question is, would he be more likely to score more than Ellis and Brennen. One point could be the difference between medals.

No in fact i think he would score less

But now we are in the final not sure it matters but I would definitely use Brennan more, he looked pretty good in his one ride.

I am not sure about Brennan, he beat Lindback who had some problem with his bike and Klima who hadn't scored all night.
