Be warned at some point there will be a falling out with Atkins not maybe with him but if daddy gets involved it could all end in tears because he thinks young Henry is a lot better than he is at the moment.

I think it would be fare to say the only bit of good luck Mark Phillips has had in 2022 was selling Henry Atkins to Oxford!

So the 2000 and the 600 are all full paying adults? I don't think so. Plus how much sponsorship  and advertising revenue do Oxford get? You really need to get down to Poole and see a big crowd. And once again no disrespect to Oxford who have done a great job. Long may it continue.

Look At Me!

Look At Me!

Look At Me!

Not Them!

Me!

Etc, etc, etc Ad Infinitum...:D

Best of luck to Poole in the final...

A victory for Poole will really be a "Victory for Speedway"...

And resonate far and wide, bringing huge publicity for the sport..

The Dorchester Reporter could even do a half page spread just above the local Meat raffle results from the British Legion...:D

When I was was with the Diamonds, I used the figure of 63% of all admissions were full paying adults for planning and from analysis.

Can you at least debate without all the abuse.

Thanks.

I'm perfectly happy to debate and mostly do on here.

However the things I won't condone or have any time for are

. Arrogance

. Bullying

. Trolling

People who do that don't like it back or at them.

There are a number of extremely arrogant bullying trolls from Poole on here.

Clearly they don't like it up em

They are what they are

Arrogant bullies and trolls.

I've actually been to Poole twice this season (vs Oxford and vs Berwick) and the crowds were smaller than Oxford's, so not sure what you're talking about. Fair point that not all will be full paying adults, but it'll be the same situation at Poole. Can't comment on sponsorship, but doubt it's much different - at least it's not going to make up Poole's shortfall from gate receipts. Plus, advertising isn't a revenue by the way!

It's a shame you feel so threatened by Oxford that you've felt the need to make it all about Poole, but that's life. Some people are just like that.

You seem very cross. Regardless of age profile, Poole have consistently run with really good crowds suggesting that they are managing to attract younger people (maybe younger oldies!) year after year.

But then this is an Oxford thread so well done to the owners, the promoters, the riders and the supporters. You have done what few achieve by being successful in your first year.

First year? Haha. First year back maybe, Oxford were founded in 1939. The current Poole team is little more than a rebranded Weymouth Wildcats.

So big they can't compete against a rubbishhouse Football Team like Bournemouth whose Stadium is smaller than some SUBBUTEO box stadiums...:nono:

Some Poole fans really do need to get out of the Nursing homes a bit more often than the weekly sardine cram in to the Minibus to allow deep cleaning of their establishments

I think this has already been said, but a lot of the stewards that work at Poole stadium also work at Bournemouth football, hence why Poole could not ride Wednesday with Bournemouth playing the same night

Weymouth Wildcats, what the hell you on about

Poole fan who doesn't know his Poole history. Suppose you only started supporting them once they became successful.

The original Poole Pirates closed down in the mid-80s and racing only returned when the Weymouth Wildcats were relocated to Poole.

I certainly no there history, was at the old Hyde Road Belle Vue in 1969 to see Poole presented with the league trophy

Why do certain Poole fans feel the need to have a go at a new club that by all accounts has been well supported?

Strange to say the least but not entirely surprising, there is barely a thread they haven't hijacked on here and turned it round to all about them.

You misquote me for some reason. My reference was to the first year of the new promotion. That’s all that’s relevant. Few new promotions or indeed relaunched tracks do well (think of Newcastle, Birmingham, Rye House, Coventry under Horton, Eastbourne - I’m sure there are others) compared to the recent successes, Oxford, Glasgow and (common thread here) Berwick.

Anyway back to Oxford... :blink::rolleyes:

Excellent that Oxford have returned and getting well supported which is great news for speedway.Hopefully next season  the promoter will have a better budget with the big crowds to build a more competitive team as last season was full of optimism but final league position would have been disappointing.Poole will probably have to let one of their heat leaders go next season so ready made no1 for Oxford or whoever needs a top championship rider.

I remember the old Oxford Speedway Forum where the "debate" used to get quite "interesting "with one Poole supporter in particular...Steve Shovlar! However going on more recent posts he seems to have mellowed (may have something to do with his wings being clipped as regards his once beloved Tory Party over Brexit and "bonkers" Johnson?)
