Oxford Cheetahs 2023

Recommended Posts

Apparently Sam Masters is now the captain of the Oxford Cheetahs. The website was updated with the 2023 team today and he's listed as the skipper. What happened to Scott Nicholls? Anybody know when/why he was demoted? Oxford were certainly mentioning Nicholls as the captain in tweets at the start of the year (after the team had been confirmed).

Maybe Scott'll be missing some fixtures due to his media commitments?!

I think the big question about the price increase is whether a booking fee is still included. There's currently no mention of it on the Oxford website (there was before). If the new £20 ticket price does include the booking fee, it's only a £1 increase over last season (£18+£1) - that's not too bad considering the current circumstances.

Wow you’ve changed your mind mr. Should change your Monika to flip flop

Yeah, fair point. I normally buy mine as soon as they go on sale, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that did buy on the day last season.

But you said you didn’t on the other topic which is it flip flop ?

Killeen needs to calm down you can only get away with reckless riding for so long.

Chris Holder was a loon when he rode at IOW. Use to ride up on the bottom of the boards.

You need to look at Wednesday, when Luke rode in wet conditions at Oxford (I know you're not used to those at Glasgow, where you call off the meeting if there's one little white cloud in the sky somewhere in the forecast - well you do, when the Danes are missing in any case), wasn't excluded once, and the only time he came down was when another rider brought him down on the first bend.

The lad is learning all the time - yeah, he made a mistake last night. Mind you, so did Sam Hagon, but was got away with somehow bouncing off the fence, during a breath-taking battle with Henry Atkins.

You really need to grow up.

As for Kileen, he has a lot of talent but needs to learn that you don't score points if you don't finish races or miss meetings through injuries. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery and coming back a bit calmer.

Not many options for replacements, does Kinsley have an average from last year?

Not sure of his average, but guess Kinsley is the obviously replacement now. Here's a curveball, though, what about Sam Hagon? He's started the season on fire in the NDL, showed he wouldn't be totally outclassed at this level in that Swindon challenge match at Poole and has experience of the Oxford track having raced a full season with the Chargers last year.

Yes, he was good at Poole. If Poole needed a 2 pointer I would definitely want him in the team! And you have us in the KOC. However a fellow Oxford fan wants it to be Ashton Boughen.
