Whilst I'm all for giving the young British talent pool a fair chance, They have to want to race at this level not be forced into a situation that they are unprepared for just to tick a box. If it was made a rule would these riders be helped with an upgrade in machinery that maybe required or transport to meetings for instance In this Oxford team I worry for Luke Kileen He has had one good meeting for Oxford in the NDL but he has been off his machine many times & suffered a bad break to his leg. He may well be a nice kid with great people around him but is he ready for this big step in his speedway life? Then what will it do for his confidence & his future?

Current Prem ave is 5.15, converted Champ would be 5.49. I'd Prem clubs don't think he's worth signing on the lower ave, I can't imagine they would on thel higher ave? Obviously if his Champ average lowers his converted ave will lower, but would he be in demand if that happens? I think Nicholls will be happy with the current situation. Midweek track, less Saturdays with Leicester moving up, can still pick & choose guests booking in the Prem if he wants. Still good enough to be a heat leader in the Champ & more time for TV commitments. Who says they didn't think he was worth it, I bet he got approached by several clubs. I think he's good value on anything around those figures as a reserve or second string but fair play to him for just wanting to do the one league plus telly.

They just seem to go round in circles regarding young British Talent a fair chance.Change the rules every season of their 5 year plan.Their 2-3pt average is just making up the numbers.
bluebee
It may be a top heavy side but I see the sense in this. Heat winners at home keep the crowd numbers up and that's what pays the wages. Also no team is fixed - changes can be made to the bottom end later. It's a calculated risk in my thinking. Shame they couldn't get Bomber - he's just worth watching whatever the result for the team. Hope ffor play offs next season. Anything else a bonus. Obviously you need young British riders, but chucking riders in to early dents progress imo, alot more sink than swim

Atkins was always going to be in Oxford’s 1-7 even if it had stayed at 42pts, and I’m struggling to see any others that it could potentially apply to. Yes, other teams might chuck some in, but they haven’t yet.

Noble initiative but it was never going to really work although some did swim rather than sink!

With the re-introduction of the bonus point maybe top heavy is the way to go, big home wins and decent enough heat leaders to be able to win races on the away tracks. Don't understand the mind set of putting a team together knowing you need to make changes, surely the team you sign is either good enough or it isn't. My information is that Harris will be a Glasgow rider in the not too distant future.

Ace, killeen seen trigger get mentioned for Plymouth can't really say atkins because he's already had champ last season I think? obviously this is down to 40 point team building

Let's see how the rest of the signings go, just saying it might not be quite as bleak as we think (although you'll probably be right). Might have to make changes if the youngsters don't reach the right level. Plenty of title winning sides have changed their line-ups mid season. There's always a gamble with putting in youngsters - some raise their game others crumble. I do hope that they don't find it too much of a step up. That might not help them,
