I know it happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a shock, I've gotta say I'm surprised to see Josh guesting for Birmingham on Wednesday, as they are undoubtedly Monarchs biggest rivals for 6th spot.

Monarchs will just book Sedgy if required for Cookie.

Just think a Birmingham rider as guest vs Poole then a Poole rider as guest vs Birmingham and Birmingham could use a Poole rider as guest too.

Only in speedway lol

Do Edinburgh have another years option on  Armadale?

Great question!!

To my knowledge, nothing else on the matter has been announced since this being the last year.

Think it’s widely expected that we will continue at Armadale, given the issues the owner has with selling the place, but nothing announced from the club, as far as I’m aware.

‘Farewell’ meeting 2.0….

As far as I’m led to believe we will still be at Armadale next year. The owners don’t have anyone looking to buy the land, no real surprise with how much they are asking for it so we will remain there till otherwise told.

Good to see Dayle Wood back in action yesterday.

His presence could be key in the Monarchs' upcoming play off push.

No offence to the lad, but his return weakens Edinburgh. So I guess you could say his presence is key, as it makes a very minimal chance even harder!

No wanting to slag of Dayle, he's doing exactly what is expected of a NL reserve at Champ level.

Heard he’s got a sore wrist again for the play offs.

I know young lads deserve the opporchancity to ride at a higher level but I've often thought from a safety point of view NDL lads should have to achieve a certain average before they can move up to CL level.

Yes there will be instances, Ashton Boughen being the latest example, of kids who do have a natural ability and can hold their own but as we've all seen many are a danger to themselves as well as others when introduced to the next level.

The rule you suggested wouldn't stop Boughen stepping up, if it was reach a 5.00 NL ave to step up for example? Bewley on the other hand signed for Edinburgh before racing NL, so he shows how that wouldn't work.

In theory clubs should be singing the best 2.00 riders available, which would avoid rider stepping up too soon & potentially being a danger to others (not saying Wood is), but why Edinburgh picked & stuck with a NL reserve confuses me?

Is there not a 'licence' type test in Poland before they can ride in a proper meeting?

I'm sure it may have been Holder that was complaining about it when one of the juniors took him out this year, after taking someone else out in the meeting before...and the one after.

Probably one of the rarer occasions but a test should be in place, especially the basics like laying the bike down which newer riders don't seem capable of these days.

Aye. Can only assume other changes needed done before a certain date, so had to declare Wood, and then didn’t manage to get the 2 pointer they wanted. Sam Hagon was mentioned.

I understood why they picked him, to allow Borke to sign, but not why they haven't looked to strengthen up, with a stronger 2.00 rider

They did none of them wanted to travel or gave another excuse.

Thats been an age old problem with Scottish speedway.

Gone are the days when the like of Chris Julian and Terry Stone were willing to travel from the deep south for a ride in Scotland..
