speedin70
Kudos to the person who collates all this together and presents this summary free of charge. Such a shame that EEN and EL will benefit from copying this work. https://www.routerlogin.net/ pikashow
Nickinho
Video just released from the BBC Archives about former Monarch (1960) and crooner(!) Reg Luckhurst during his last season in speedway. A genuine character who started out in 1959 and is still alive and well at the age of 87. Check out the fashions too! 1975: Reg Luckhurst - SPEEDWAY RIDER | Tonight | Classic BBC Sport | BBC Archive - YouTube Your Cheatin' Heart Reg Luckhurst - YouTube Edited January 17, 2023 by Nickinho spelling mistkae
TheScotsman
Cheers Nickinho - that was a great watch. I remember him coming up to join the Monarchs later in 1960. A really nice bloke.

You also catch a few glimpses of a very young Jamie & Jeremy Luckhurst who would both ride for the Monarchs in the late eighties at Powderhall.

screm
Latest injury news on Josh Pickering is that he is still very sore this morning and will attend his local hospital later today for a more thorough diagnoses.
szkocjasid
While you never want to see a rider injured & I hope it's nothing serious, at least Edinburgh have good options for guests. I'd recommend Schlein at Oxford & R.Worrall at home (if needed).
LisaColette
Reading an article were they think Josh will be out for 4-6 weeks and just going to run with guests. No replacement. This seems to happening more, relying on guests. Is it because there just isn't anyone to sign on similar average or just easier to run with guests? Can you name anyone on his average you'd replace him with? Ellis would be converted pren average probably too high, rasser I think was over 9 in his spell with us. Guests are better than the alternatives imo

Guests is the most sensible approach. You can pick and choose track specialists to an extent to makes total sense. Can’t think of who we might be able to sign to cover him anyway tbh.

Yeah only ones I can think of ride in Poland as well so maybe some fixture clashes. Crazy that you can't get a replacement in for a No1 rider though! Guess that is the times we live in now.

Weren't Plymouth trying to get him last year and Kennett's average was 8.40 ish. Sure Poole wouldn't mind him going to Edinburgh.
