Took Glasgows Barrister to get Craig Cook off initial penalties for the Eastbourne fracas in 2019 allegedly.

He took 5 mins to pick up the fact that Vatcher had levied a penalty above his sign off limit and which should have had higher level joint authorisation.

Poole are just jealous that Glasgow have exposed by the rule book. Takes some brass neck from Poole after all the stunts they've played over the years.

No doubt right now Danielle Ford will be trying to persuade Management Committee to create a new rule to stop it.

Be interesting to see what stunts the hairdresser plays next.

Danny and Danielle aren't married yet - they only recently got engaged!!

We don’t need to. The Fords got their team building right from the start of the season and didn’t have to go around throwing a massive wad of cash at the death of the season to compete, like Belle Vue did last year with Lambert.

You were happy with your team all last year & so far this year but it does not mean that Poole do not try to seek an advantage/upgrade at some time. It is more to the fact that you have egg on your faces in that someone else has trumped you with an excellent signing. Without realizing at first when looking at Wojdylo that Tarasenko was on the same assessed average so the same scenario applied. Just imagine if Glasgow had got Wojdylo & someone else came in for Tarasenko. This forum would be in meltdown.

Due to Glasgow’s well timed team change in bringing in The Pole  , tonight will be Nathan Ablitts last meeting for Scunthorpe Scorpions and from August 28th he will be replaced by

Tai Woffindon who will come in at No 7 for the Scorpions using his historical average from  2006  conference league campaign with the North Lincolnshire side apparently this is legal as it’s more then 10 yrs since he rode at the Eddie Right Raceway  . This will now ramp up the pressure on Poole Pirates  who are desperately trying to check is Bartosz Zmarzlik  has ridden for Weymouth Wildcats in the Speedway Conference League .

Speedway has gone Stupid

Oh dear someone isn't a happy bunny today ...a glasgow team strengthening to try win the title trophy & stop Poole dominatiing again or a strong Oxford team or redcar from winning it .. that can't be allowed no way, the hate for tigers is growing it seems hmmm... I speak for every glasgow fan thank you the tigers management for at least trying & giving it a go thats all u can ask ...haters hate cheerio goodbye

As a retired Barrister I have had a look through the rule book on the SCB site and cannot believe how poorly worded it is.

The solution is simple rip it up. Get the BSPA brains trust together in front of a legal professional and explain to them the basic rules.

They will then write a new rule book that is easy for fans to follow and does not have loopholes like this in it.

It reminds me of the definition of F1 “To design a winning car that exploits the rule book, without breaking the rules”.

I for one congratulate the Glasgow promotion on their savvy signing.

Would you take the purposive approach or Roman Law interpretive  principles though?

Easy to understand and "closing all loopholes" generally tend to be conflicting objectives when drafting legislation.

One would imagine that the rules (which haven't been written yet, so definitely hypothetical) would either be that his real average takes precedence or it is the higher of tye two so his Prem average would be the one to count.

There are other possibilities, for example a weighted average:

m x 1.3 x prem average + n x Champ ave

-----‐------------‐---------------------------------------------

                             m + n

Where m and n are the number of matches used in determining respective league's greensheets

From memory & maths & equations( some 45+ years ago), the m & n cancel each other out top & bottom, so the answer is

1.3 x prem average + champ average

Not sure how we have egg on our faces!? No one has won anything yet! It's like everyone wants us to be annoyed even though we are not. Pretty funny tbh. Even Bagpuss is on his little I hate Poole windups lol.

There seemed to be a lot of people very disappointed that Poole fans haven't acted more hysterically to this signing. Most of the posts I've seen from Poole fans seem to accept they've been out manouvered. Anyway it will all be decided on track at the end of the day.

It was aimed mainly at SS as he seems the most to be in uproar over the signing.

Most of the other Poole posters do have a bit of humility even though they congregate on EVERY thread   but it is a forum after all.

Has anyone really been that upset by the signing? The rule absolutely I'm baffled by it as well but don't think anyone "greeting" about it per se. Every team I'm sure would love a rider of tarasenko ability on a 5 in this league. I'm not their biggest fan but think few people looking for Poole fans to be annoyed for some kind of points scoring.

It's just the usual money bags Glasgow chat when no-one knows what the deal is costing and as was mentioned his polish commitments are finished it's extra racing for him and money wouldn't otherwise have made. Would've been same if we'd signed boughen but Oxford don't get the same thing. Strange

I'm upset.....but only because Oxford didn't think of it first. Ha. Cracking signing, and well done Glasgow. I obviously want Oxford to win, but there's another part of me that wants to see good riders racing speedway, so can't wait if Oxford and Glasgow meet in the playoffs.

It's odd that it's taken until now for it to crop up. Absolutely agree, really looking forward to Oxford Glasgow match to see tarasenko and boughen. Throw in both sides top 3s and it's got classic match all over it.
