Got to say ace pijpers form has went to pieces 1 point in the ndl for comets today at Kent...he is struggling to complete races & score ...sadly tigers reserves are our biggest problem that said Lee has got a wee bit better paid 8 at berwick for Poole & done well for us against poole tho he knows both tracks  well..

Sadly the 6 and 7 berths have been a problem for a few years as the management seem to go with what they perceive as a strong 1 to 5.

IMO your reserves should be capable of beating their opposite number and even occasionally getting the better of visiting s/s.

Equally you'd hope your reserves pick up points away from home too as Championships are generally won by picking up points on away days.

Poole and Oxford seem to be setting the standard as their away results have shown

Two fall/ exclusions and generally on the pace in his other two.

But a CL standard reserve's (NDL h/l) pace should surely be more than a single point at NDL level?

6 and 7 last year started with Danyon and Connor

Year before Jensen and Connor

Year before Bickley and eventually Connor

Before that was Sarjant and thomas

I wouldn't say the past have been a problem at reserve, I would completely agree that this year it has been a weak spot, but the management went in knowing full well that Ace was in his first year and making his average was the Goal, which he has done. This put all the focus on Lee scoring well at 6.

Morley and Ablitt were the two Kent riders who finished ahead of him, both scoring paid 13, so wouldn't get too worried about his seeming lack of form.

Totally agree….. he was in attacking mode in both his exclusions and all over Morley (but no way through) when he scored his zero.

I'd agree with that. In his first exclusion he fell trying to go around Nathan Ablitt and in the second one he lined up Tom Woolley, in much the same way that Connor Bailey did to Dan Thompson on the under 21 final, but on this occasion he appeared to catch Tom's leg on his way through causing Tom to fall.

He was always on the pace other than heat 13 where he was outgated and couldn't get past Ben Morley despite trying for all four laps.

Amazing how memory works as in my head Ace was leading Ablitt and looking for contact as Nathan came through, small touch and he bailed out. Either the ref saw through it or called it very wrong (likely the latter). No doubt there is plenty of talent but gating certainly needs work.

You do realize he is still only 16 and learning very quickly, at that age you are invariably going to be inconsistent, Young Ace is coming along just nicely and has exceeded my expectations, honestly I have no idea what some people are expecting.

My thoughts exactly. I've never been to iwade but sure I've read it's quite a specialist track if not set up then can struggle. Like you said he's a young kid, he's taken quite a few bumps in last month or so. He's not tai woffinden but no one ever thought he would be. He's doing fine and should be left alone to develop. About 3rd or 4th time this has come up this season as if it's ace that's the problem we're looking 3rd/4th team in the league, ridiculous

Two things, do you think Glasgow will finish with the same 7?

And in Bombers announcement today, do you think Glasgow will come through with shining colours?

I doubt Bomber will have anything to say about Glasgow.

I think it will most likely be about the time-line of events between Leicester and Peterborough and how much had been agreed before Bomber was informed.

Isn't it interesting that Stewart Dickson now has Lawson, Cook and Worrall together again in the same team?

Richard and Richie were both at Lynn last season and managed for a whole season!

Cookie and Richard be at opposite ends of the pits, separate entrances, no heats together lol

But the change couldn't have happened without Bombers agreement. If he doesn't agree to the swap, Peterborough have no replacement for Worrall & Leicester can't sign Cook for Batchelor.

I'd say Ace has been inconsistent this season, exactly what you'd expect from a 16 year old in his first Champ / 2nd NL season!
