I still don't understand why being ill means leaving straight away? If I had driven 7 hours to get to a track then took ill, the last thing on my mind would be turning round & driving straight back! Surely he could have let Ashton ride, slept in the back of the van to get his strength up, then gone home?

Depends what the illness was, I guess?

It could, but I can't think of an illness where I'd be happy to drive all that way home again, but not to stick around for 2 hours in a dark room.

Do you not think they would call an Ambulance if he had a sudden illness instead of attempting the long journey home.Fishy to say the least.

In what way is he overrated and by who. You say he is a good young rider, one of the better 2 point riders but despite that you think he is overrated, give me strength.

He is overrated. What part of my statement did you not understand? There have been many 16-year-olds who have been destined for bigger things who never made it big. What makes you think he will become a leading rider?

Ok conspiracy theories aside and the fact that I have no idea about Broughton or his dad. I suffered a major health episode while being away from home and jumped in the car and drove all the way home not feeling the greatest, because when you feel ill there's nowhere that makes it better than your own bed. Granted 8 hours later I was in A&E with a life changing medical issue.FYI I'm all good now.

Who's rating him above what he has achieved?

He is a two pointer who is making his average, Glasgow management and owners have stated there is zero pressure on him and from the terraces at ashfield everyone is saying the same.

So I'm not quite sure who's saying he's better than what he is?

I'll ask again. In what way is he overrated and by who? I'm not interested in your mystic Meg predictions and where did I say he will become a leading rider. Cast1m sums it up quite nicely.

The overrated bit , I am really not sure we’re you get the idea off the kid being overrated by anyone we all can see he has potential.

He will be inconsistent that’s part of the learning curve and he will be allowed to progress at his pace with no pressure.

Who knows how it will turn out for Ace but for a 16 year old progressing to the next level he has huge potential.

Have to agree..not seen anywhere that he's the next bewley or woffinden. He's a talented kid making his way in the sport and doing imo more than was expected of him. We're no looking at a woofy going from 7 to 1 in a season

I think you just don’t rate him, rather than everyone overrating him. No one is saying he’s going to be a future GP rider or anything

Here's my original comment:

"He's a good young rider but a bit overrated in my opinion. Still one of the better 2 point riders in the league though and he's got a whole lot of time on his side."

So no, i do actually rate him, you've just chosen to interpret my words your own way. I just believe that too much is being made of this kid and i'm sure he will go on to have a good career but i can't ever see him being a top rider. The way everyone reacted to my opinion told me that they do rate him much more highly than i do.

I disagree. Just because people "rate him much more highly than I do" doesn't automatically mean he's 'overrated'.

Think of it as a 4-tier system.

Tier 1 - those who don't rate him very much, if at all. I don't know of anyone in that particular bracket, but it needs to exist in order to emphasise my point.

Tier 2 - your own personal level of 'rating'.

Tier 3 - the level of 'rating' according to those who apparently disagree with you, but haven't gone 'overboard' in their written thoughts on this thread e.g. by stating he'll be a World Champion in 5 years time.

Tier 4 - 'overrated' (see "World Champion" example above).

Feel free to disagree :)

Why are you using a tier system? Are you Nicola Sturgeon in disguise?

Blimey son. You'll have me in tears, comparing me to that national embarrassment!

She is now a global embarrassment, making the headlines in countries that don’t even know we’re Scotland is.

She will be telling us soon she can’t recall how a £100k camper van ended up on the driveway.

I am sure that the people who donated large sums off there hard earned that disappeared will be looking for a time-share to use for a jolly two weeks a year..

A good accountant could probably ruin her once and for all come to think of it we could utilise your skills for this.
