Great bunch of supporters Absolutely was good to a see a hoard. Miss the days of the northern tours, Newport used to bring coach loads. Thing of the past from what I can see It was as much a comment that fans don't seem to follow their riders like used to. In the past if stoney had ridden in Antarctica they'd be 200 Workington fans to watch him. Edited July 16, 2023 by Jaizer .

Isn't Redcar fairly similar to Ashfield, round and banked? Might have been better to go to a different type of track had it been possible. More likely the averages was the main factor.

All the 'tours' seem to be a thing of the past perhaps due to finances and perhaps due to lack of tracks in the same geographical area running on consecutive evenings. Southern teams used to be able to do Edinburgh/Berwick or Workington/ Glasgow or Newcastle together. Too many teams racing on same nights now doesn't help

No date for that has been fixed but we could do it the night before we go to Poole for our league meeting at the end of August. In the past we rode on Thursday night's to let southern teams do Glasgow/ Edinburgh/ Berwick tours though this is no .longer possible Thursday's are reserved as a Premiership night. Plymouth had Edinburgh and Berwick this weekend - both rained off. Are tours jinxed? It certainly seems that way.

Yeah and despite less fixtures and gaps between matches you can bet there will be a mad rush to complete fixtures due to all the rain-offs and other postponements. Just down to the weather this week and forecast rain, it being on bsn or a general apathy towards that type of event? Didn't see much in way of away support, noisy Plymouth contingent apart. We were coming up from worky with a car full, but having been glued to weather forecast all weekend, which was 25-100% rain decided against a trip up, and watched on the stream, unfortunately we missed a good meeting and Glasgow missed out on our money

About 40-50 comets fans on supporters bus or in cars, were at armadump last night following the comets struggling to score 31 points, but we were there following and making noise out of an estimated crowd of 175, I counted them Edited July 16, 2023 by Neila
Cast1rn
On the "Glasgow made a mistake letting Connor go" front, his away form was at best, awful. He maybe had got a little too comfy around Ashfield and needed to move on. His average also didn't fit this year, with the bit between his teeth and being forced to learn a new home track, the addition of Poland, he's only going to improve.

Personally I don't think there is much difference between the tracks at Redcar and Glasgow so learning may be minimum. Perhaps if he had got a smaller, tighter and flatter track he.may have gained some knowledge and considering he nearly didn't have a CL place he has improved well. His track skills will definitely improve riding Workington especially with Stevie Lawson there to help and extra track time now with Belle Vue can only add to his armoury. Let's hope he's back in the stripes before long.
Neila
Conner also riding in Poland with Wroclaw U24 side with Greg Hancock helping with coaching, so a master in Poland and a god at worky helping can only get better

Neila
Yea but some riders maybe trying to do too many leagues especially at a young age, not saying this applies to conner, but even if he only has one meeting for each team a week, it's belle Vue Mon, Poland Tues, Redcar Fri and worky sat

My thoughts exactly, Connor winning yesterday didn't "prove" anything to the Glasgow promotion, they already knew he is good around Ashfield & I'm sure they are delighted for him. His away form will be the reason he was let go.

So if that reasoning remains constant we can expect a few new faces in The Stripes next season if not this? 1

I think that Harris, Nowak and Vissing were always in the plan for 2023 and when Brennan and Basso were confirmed, the 40 point limit meant there were only six points left and neither Hume nor Bailey could be fitted in. Pijper on 2.00 and a 4.00 rider was the only fit available. Whether Complin was always the first choice as the 4.00 is uncertain.
