The cynic in me wonders if he's getting dropped to make way for russian Peterborough allegedly signing as might need a double change?

Yeah, could be. Or he is just prioritising Glasgow as he not going to want to miss tomorrow.

Oh yeah.

Who you have said or Howarth, Craig Cook ;) or Schlein..? With extra 5% allowed at home, up to 8.95 for Basso.

Howarth and schlein both pretty poor at ashfield and cookie has a bad back...

Sedgy would be best option then and riding at no3 should be okay?

Yeah I mean he's probably the best of the available options and on a given league meeting be fine with it..but was hoping Ben would go close to going through the card if we were to get back in it. Sedgy I can't see doing that

From what I've read about Ben's injury it seems he had one of his knuckles dislocated by a bit of flying shale.

2 questions is that is the case:

How do pieces of shale large enough to inflict such damage reach the track?

Riders seem to use much thinner gloves these say which obviously don't offer much protection. Should stronger gloves that do offer protection, such as the old leather style with rubber strips, be made compulsory?

next time you see riders on a track walk watch them pick up stones and other things off the track i have picked up nuts and bolts washers walking the scunny track plus they use a different shale at peterbrough maybe it’s not screeded before it’s put on the track it doesn't need to be big to inflict damage it’s the speed at which it hits you

I remember years ago one of the track staff spotting something on the track at Ashfield and pulling up a small piece of barbed wire from under the shale. All sorts of small objects can get into the shale before it's laid. Could have been a small ball bearing, anything.
