Any idea what connor's starting average is ?

Fair bit lower than James I'm guessing !

How far under the points limit are we ? Ta

4.69 Shanes, 4.32 Bailey. Close to like for like but Bailey likely to do better over the season.

Thanx for that. I thought James was a lot higher for some reason. Like you say like for like and I agree possibly a better signing overall !!

If Bailey is a better signing than Shanes, then why didn't Redcar sign him initially?

Don't think there's much to choose between them.

Redcar track should suit Bailey given the way he rides Ashfield.IMO

I guess cos you know what you will get with Shanes. Whereas Connor is still learning? Also he is really good at Glasgow but how did he get on with away tracks. Although no rider should have any issues with Redcar as their home track.

I would expect Connor and Jason to swap between reserve and no2 throughout the season.

He was poor away from home at a number of tracks, but he is still only 20(I think)and learning.

Yes, I was going to put young and still learning, but wasn't sure how old he was. Also I wasn't sure if he did Motorcross first and then moved over to speedway a bit later like some of the others.

Similar standard of rider imo. One thing about Bailey is he was far stronger at home 6.31 (7.56) than he was away 3.53 (3.65). If he can learn to ride Redcar like he does Glasgow, it's a good signing!

Shane's is what he is, a 4.5/5 point champ rider more committed to grasstrack. Connor is dedicated and determined to make a success of speedway. If he can up his away average a couple points you've got 6 pointer on your hands. I think moving from Glasgow will be the making of him personally

Additionally he has NDL now too, his form dipped when was a lull in the season having the extra meetings will definitely help his progress

He found the going tough when he moved out the reserve berth to ride at number two, something that Broc Nicol also struggled with. It'll be interesting to see if he copes better this year. From memory he didn't score particularly well at Redcar in our league meeting last season, which we won, possibly our best away performance of the year.

3 from 4 rides. In fairness Jenkins scored paid 17 that night from reserve!

He certainly beat some good riders round Ashfield, and he looked quite stylish.

Your logic is valid though, Redcar must have rated Shanes as stronger or they would have picked Bailey to start with.

Bailey has more potential, will he find it at Redcar?

Connor had been riding junior speedway for five years or so in Australia before coming over to Scotland at 16 to join the Tigers.
