Berwick 2023.

If Dick Barrie and/or Berwick Speedway believe that the very poor attendance at the recent Scunthorpe, Kent double header was down to people having a Kings coronation party, then they are not reading the room. I know plenty people who didn't go and not one of them said it was due to the coronation, more value for money and the price itself.

Coronation one of the biggest events this country has/will ever see for a long time so I think it will not be far off from the correct assessment. Seems a small minority are speaking vocally of poor value for money but those I spoke too thought the pricing model provided excellent value for money.

Bigger majority said nothing and stayed at home would be my assessment.

It was the same price as a normal Champ & NL match, but they didn't get to see 30 heats. Can't call that excellent value for money myself!

And they are the ones sny business should "listen" to...

If you are there then 30 races for 30  quid is VFM to you as you must be interested in all those 30 races..

The majority of fans at most tracks I would say would not see it as VFM as they simply will have no interest in standing around for circa 3 hours watching something that they are only interested in half of what's on offer..

The predictions on here of a poor crowd was hardly "mystical" was it? Common sense dictated that this would be the outcome...

Presume Berwick effectively "closed down" due to all the street parties that day? ;)

According to Dick Barrie it was one long mardigra.

New averages are out, Berwick`s team average drops to 37-77. Former No1 Thomas Jorgensen drops a very impressive 2-5pts, his place is taken by Rory Schlein.

All TJ has done is carried on his 2021 Championship form (as expected) he's never been a 9+ rider. Any blame should be placed in the promotion for "wasting" 2 points not him imo, however they can remedy that but signing a 4+ rider to replace the injured Stoneman.

As scunny found trying to replace Kennedy there aren't any 4 pointers around and I don't see signing proctor as a positive change since he became available.

Is there a possibility replacing etheridge for a HL? Although only really Ellis and batch I can think of not signed to champ

Would Jonas's brother and another 5 pointer fit instead of a HL?

Might be a different option.

Sorry, but I cant get into the mind set that the promotion would sign a team at the start of the season knowing they would need to make changes when the averages sorted themselves out. Signing Jorgensen on a falsely high average was the mistake.
