If your team is carrying 2 x 2 pointers and they make their average that leaves 42 points required to get a win before heat 15. That works out at 2.1 points per rider per race. 4-2’s won’t cut it. last year Poole could carry one two pointer as Nathan only did 3 rides a night (10%) leaving the rest of the riders requiring to score 1.76 points per ride(4-2’s now cut it) to secure a win by the end of heat 14. if you think that your 1-5 can all average 8.4 a meeting then that’s the way to go. I’d go with a 4 pointer at 6 and take the #7’s 4th ride unless he’s scored 2 already in the meeting. (Pretty much what Poole did with Nathan all season) Edited December 7, 2022 by Cast1rn

Yes that is true, it is only rumour, maybe they are on team d, e by now and he is included. With some teams already announced with at least one 2 pointer, some with two and with a seasons experience at CL level I think Nathan would be a big bonus as in mh opinion he is better than most if not all the 2 point riders already announced. It does seem odd, Nathan now has year and a half champ experience, looking at make up of most teams have 1 if not 2 inexperienced reserves this season. You'd think he'd be one of better reserves in the league

Not sure I'd agree with that, I'd personally put him behind Coles, Stoneman, Pijper, Atkins and Mulford. Jury out on Killeen. What I would say is that IF Roynon and Newman are Poole's reserves as suggested that is quite shrewd, they are experienced riders who should have the beating of many reserves in the league. Once it was decided to release King and go more solid Ablitt was highly unlikely to return, hopefully he will get a ride elsewhere. I largely agree with your assessment, but given his age, relative inexperience and improvement to date I would expect Ablitt to overtake most of these in 2023. So I'd go with a strong no 6 and Ablitt.

Yes but this is the Champ and he rode for BV in NL, so not really home advantage. Have seen Nathan beat Starke, James Sarjaent at Edinburgh twice, Ben Morley at Plymouth and Bailey at Poole twice. Sure there are others but those are the ones that I remember the most.

Also in his defence as a number 7 he should be riding against the oppositions 7 in every heat he’s in, but he was never in heat 8.
