Best chance BV have had in a while though. Only really if they can handle the pressure of the situation and you also need a bit of luck on your side when it comes down to a final. 

So if it is a draw on aggregate, is it superheat or golden heats?

Doyle shed a chain battling Wright for 2nd if I recall correctly, the other Ace in that heat was well clear.  Doyle didn't move from the gate because he didn't turn his fuel on.

At the start of the season I think most would have thought Sheffield but now with the changes Belle Vue should win. 

I hope it is a great final but be difficult to match last year's.

Maximum 2 team changes in the transfer window.  Can only make a third team change if it's for a season-ending injury.   Craig Cook hasn't had a season ending injury but they booted him out for Lewis Kerr.

As always the rules are very unclear and open to interpretation or misinterpretation

The rule book states long term injury not season ending. 

When Allen and Cook were replaced by Sedgman and Kerr respectively they had both suffered long term injuries so the rule was followed correctly (they’d already used one move when replacing Stefan). 

As Bates obviously knew the rule having used it himself, the fact he tried to use his influence as a committee member to gain an unfair advantage as Sheffield promoter is just down right wrong. I’m glad the SCB got involved and put things right but it’s a sad state of affairs when a fellow promoter acts in such an underhand manner.

Yet it's been Bates that been complaining the most last week but he did 3 transfers yet nothing was said.

Actually he's right.   Cook didn't suffer a "long-term" injury.   He carried on riding elsewhere.  He was dropped due to form/reliability.    Having already used their 2 legal changes, this third one was illegal.

Putting aside the who signed who lets look a the last times the teams rode each other at each others tracks

Belle Vue 5th September

Belle Vue 54 Sheffield 36

Belle Vue had their full 1 to 7.

Sheffield Klindt replaced Musielak and scored 12 points from 6 rides.

 

Sheffield 22nd September

Sheffield 57 Belle Vue 33

Sheffield had their full 1 to 7

Belle Vue had Rider Replacement Fricke and the team scored 6 points from the Rider Replacement rides.

Overall Aggregate Scores; Sheffield 93 Belle Vue 87.

Although Sheffield won those meetings on aggregate, I cannot see Musielak matching Klindt scores, and Lambert will score more than double the Rider Replacement score at Sheffield.

For me Belle Vue are rank favourites.

This thread proves that, depending on how you read the rules, one or both of the teams may or may not have broken the rules. What is also clear is that the BSPL and SCB need to get the rules for 2023 looked at very carefully by a legal experts so that they are written with no loopholes and watertight so they do not allow dodgy goings on as we have seen in the past. If BSPL and SCB cannot manage that then they are not fit for purpose and a new independent governing body should take over.
