Never understood the reasoning that you have to go to exact limit.

If you have 4.21 and nothing suitable but ideal candidate is 0.80 or similar short, why not sign the best 7 for your track, rather than another 7 just to use every decimal point up.

Top 5 of Plymouth looks as good as any.

Sadly they have by far the weakest number 7

Good number 6 will be vital.

True, you don't have to. But as Lewy says they have got riders with the 2.5% reduction, so seems a bit silly to then not use about 0.74 of it! Who is better at Plymouth Roynon or Keheller/Josh MacDonald? Or Gino if not at Birmingham.

4.21 for a No.6

Manzares, Proctor or Roynon would fit.

Not many options from this seasons riders Kasper Andersen 4.10 or an assessed rider that failed to obtain their 4pt average.

What about having Zane Keleher back? 4.15 average, was very good round Plymouth in 2021

Macdonald I believe is on 4 and has 2 new ankles to go with his 2 new eyes. But judging by his Twitter posts he doesn’t have a ride.

hopefully 2024 with Comets back and even more hopefully WSM rebels there’ll be spots for everyone.

Might be a bit costly but with ALL home based 1-6 surely got to be worth a punt on Kelleher on that average.

Track Record holder in 2021, some outstanding home form and will have ridden almost all of the tracks at least once.

You'd back him to put points on that average and he was as least as good as Z Cook and Ruml in that 2021 Team, and if either of those were starting at 6 in 2023 the vibe would be massively positive!

No brainer in my opinion.

It’s curious as to why no one wanted him in 2022 but perhaps the fact he came 9th in the recent 2022 Aussie Championship as opposed to James Pearson’s 5th place says a lot? I’m not even sure if he now qualifies for a visa, though I don’t know how he’s done in state championships. Also, he’ll be 30 before the season starts. Garry May is far too experienced to not spot a good thing - or a bad one - so I’d trust his judgment.

Zane Kelleher  ?

For the love of god, no! He's bang average at Plymouth and crap away. We should be nowhere near him if we have aspirations.

Roynon would be good at Plymouth but I worry about his injuries which puts you back at square one. A new 4 pointer would be good but I imagine the promotion are looking to keep costs down hence going all British so far.

If Starkey gets back to 6-7 pointer he's been for most his champ career could be a very good season for the glads. Definitely won't drop many home points and should be in hunt for a lot of bonus points too

Agreed, injuries and machinery issues have plagued him but at Plymouth especially he's a very good rider. Hope he can stay fit and bring good equipment to the table.
