I noticed that it’s reported as non-negative, is that because they need official lab testing in the same way drug and alcohol testing is done by the police? Happens frequently at my work..they have a drug test are some are non conclusive. They are sent to a lab for a further inspection and usually solves the puzzle. No, the B sample is lab analysed as it's more accurate. It's not dodgy kits. They might pick up painkillers for example as opiates. It does happen but not often. There have been cases where riders don't get a ban because of meds. To be clear, I'm not saying they're definitely negative. Just that they need to be confirmed. It's similar to when NFL players kept citing "tainted supplements", they need to take responsibility. There's lots of things that could cause it. As I understand it the lab test shows whether the readings are consistent with any declared medication. I don't know what the rules are around what they can and can't take. You almost hope it's positive as the riders names are out there now.
