Jesus wept can this get any worse

Doubt it - certainly not got any better since I retired from attending meetings 3 years ago.

Hottest and driest summer since 1066 and still the same old problem trying to run meetings in early winter on c****y wet tracks in c**p weather for the spectators.

Never any urgency to complete the fixtures in summer - every club trots out lame excuses. No one is interested in solving the  problem as the mushrooms* that are speedway supporters will turn up regardless to fill the piggy bank of the “promoters”

* fed on s**t and kept in the dark.

Cut off for league fixtures needs to be mid August

End of August is fine... clubs just need to prioritise running the pay offs and they need to be cut down from top 6 to top 3 imo

But if it is top 6 still, mid August then?

Why not end of July? If they currently can't run 5 ties in 2 months, which has been proven they can't, what difference will 2 extra weeks make?

League cut off was early September that is now 7 weeks ago and still waiting for a completion. Think bspa and promotions need to do a lot of head banging so it does not happen again, but this was said in 2018 when comets won the treble in the last week of the season   with the last league match iced off !!

And 2019 when we won the Championship on a dark, damp, blustery Tuesday night in Glasgow at the end of October

These are the last home league matches for the pay off qualifiers:

Edinburgh: 5th of August

Glasgow: 5th of August

Leicester: 24th of July!!

Plymouth: 30th August (or 11th of October)

Poole: 17th of August

Redcar: 26th of August

It is quite unbelievable that this situation pops up season after season. The powers at be don’t seem capable IMO.I think is just a case of not wanting rock the boat or upset the speedway Mafia.

Undoubtedly a lot of people know this happens nearly every season but trying to rectify or voice your concerns over this matter make you a "Keyboard Warrior ". Can't see it ever being sorted personally and no doubt this time next year we'll be discussing the same situation.

Fromafar -  powers that be  = the collective promoters at all tracks. They have no interest whatsoever in solving the problem. They are unwilling and  in my opinion incapable of taking part in joined up thinking..........

AS LONG AS the supporters keep on turning up in sufficient numbers to fill their piggy banks for the p.offs and to a lesser extent the KO CUP final meetings.

I would start with Godfrey and Bates

I would start with the ones that talk but their mouth doesn’t move.

Then tell you all will be fine and pat you on the back.

Always an ominous sign.

If three clubs can get theirs done by the first week of August there is no reason why the Pkay Offs can't be completed by the end of the summer holidays. Run the cups and whatever else after that.

Old Bob speaking 100% truth here. I've been saying for years that they should rattle through the league, and hold the play off finals on the August Bank Holiday. Can move into September as a last resort.

But no. Every year we fannny about in the cold and wet when nobody is interested and the racing is a lottery because riders are rusty and conditions are poor. Sadly it will never change.
