Belle Vue v Ipswich Play off semi 2nd leg 3 Oct

Recommended Posts

They really need to sort out how they apply the rules!  BV (and other teams) have suffered by the playoff rules in the past which have prevented them signing a new rider - so I don’t understand why it’s allowed now!  Some you win and some you lose but it doesn’t make it right.

Hard to bet against BV to finally lift the trophy for the first time in a very long time

I personally think the Lambert signing is against the rules, but the rules are written so poorly, can't blame Belle Vue for taking advantage of them.

To me the rules are saying "all signings must be between 25% & 75% of fixtures, you're allowed 2 transfers plus injury transfers".

However the rules aren't clear enough, so it could be assumed the injury rule is allowed after the transfer window. It's also not clear if the 25-75% window is for each clubs matches or the league as a whole. Clubs also made transfers after the league cup matches & before the league started, which is also out with the "transfer window"!

As most fans dislike guests, I do feel any rule which stops transfers & means more guests needing to be used is daft!

Yes in the best interests of British Speedway naturally

Never sure just what that means, normally its said just after one club or another has rode rough shod over a rule or two. Belle Vue should not have been allowed to sign Lambert, that is against the rules irrespective of interests.

Forget all the different twists on the rules. The bottom line is Fricke rode all season to get Belle vue into the play offs. From his last home and away meetings with Ipswich, Sheffield and Wolves Fricke has scored 67 points. For a club to loose that fire power in the play offs down to injury in my eyes is wrong now and for any club in the future.. A like for like change in my eyes is the fair way to go Lambert will have to go some to match those scores. The change does not make Belle vue any weaker or stronger if they win it they will have deserved it if another team wins it they will have won it because they are the best and not because they beat a weakened team.

Dreadfully written rule.

One thing they need to do though before much longer is change the averages of riders who were here years ago and now ride on the continent. For a start anyone in the upper regions of the GPs should be automatically at least 10.

I don't think the crowd will be that big tonight, I think result being decided last week will put a lot off tonight and save their money for the final and watch on TV tonight.

The website says no tickets available...

Presume that isnt the case?

Do they stop online tickets at some point prior to the start?

What is this utter BS bringing in Lambert? Effing joke. Belle Vue fans must feel totally embarrassed. Shameful and wrecks the playoffs. Utter joke of a decision.

If he rode for Poole they would still be underdogs.....:D

Still think Sheffield will win the league.

I don’t fancy Sheffield to get past wolves over the 2 legs think it will be closer than people think

Could nt see anyone stopping belle vue before lambert but now they should walk it over 2 legs

Can’t believe that Eurosport are wasting time and money on what will be a completely embarrassing FARCE tonight when they could have chosen to cover the other semi!!

Sums up the joke British speedway scene COMPLETELY!

They’ve been at Monmore Green so much I’m convinced Sam’s been given a free season ticket. Nice to see another track on display even if they tie is as close to a done deal as you can imagine.
